| We got hit last night with a confirmed E3 tornado. My little town is fine, but parts if Nashville, Mt. Juliet, an Lebanon have been hit hard. Schools are closed for the remainder of the week so no work for me. Many homes are without power and roads closed due to debris. Our local Walmart is destroyed. Several businesses got hit hard. It will be some time before the area is back to normal. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| They closed our schools for the remainder of the week. We had two public schools in my county badly damaged and it will take some time to plan what to do with those displaced students and teachers. Nashville has a lot of damage in the Germantown area with collapsed buildings and many homes torn up. Hermitage (a Nashville suburb) has many apartment complexes damaged. There are a couple of complexes with hundreds of units that have told their familes they have to leave because the units aren't structurally sound. Mt. Juliet has a lot of businesses hit and closed. That is where the two schools were located. Lebanon has many homes damaged and several businesses like Lowe's and Walmart that are closed for some time to repair their buildings and restock. But, the worst hit of all, it seems, is in Putnam County where the city of Cookeville is located. They have nearly 100 homes destroyed and have the largest count of people dead or seriously injured in the storm.
The tornado hit Nashville as an F2. It picked up steam when it came into Wilson Co. as an F3. They have not ruled out that this may have hit F4 status by the time it hit Putnam Co. What is odd about this storm is the size and the length of time it stayed on the ground. We usually get hit with F1s that bounce around and never stay on the ground long. This bad boy was much bigger and carved nearly a 40 mile damage path. That's a beast for a state that isn't in the midwest!
There are lots of homes without power, but the power companies are working together to restore power where it can be. A couple of substations will have to be replaced as will tons of poles and lines. People will be out of work as an industrial section of the county was hit and those businesses are not in operation. This will be affecting people here for some time.
As for me, I am 12 miles from the damage path and am sitting here playing on the computer, listening to music, and watching Netflix. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| man this is insane! The storm hit in the middle of the night when no one expected it.
As for schools, they may do what they did here. The damaged schools were closed (several of them are still closed to this day and it has been over 18 months). They trucked in some portable buildings to one of the high schools and made it a middle school/high school. Several elementary schools combined as well.
What may be different from Nashville is the loss of students. After our storm I believe over 3,000 students moved out of the area and never returned so they had a lot of room at the schools with minimal damage and could easily move the student body into one school.
Still praying for recovery, I hate that about cookevile. Has anyone heard from Pastor Brad?
I lived in Cookeville from 95-97.

| Here is an article on the wind speeds. By the time this storm as done, we had a confirmed EF-4 with winds reaching 175 miles per hour! We have 25 confirmed deaths, 244 injured, and 20+ people still missing.

You won't hear much about it after it happened. Why? Tennesseans aren't known for widespread looting after a disaster like this. We join in together and rebuild. Remember the flood in Nashville of 2010? Nope. Nashville rebuilt what was damaged and people volunteered to get work done. It is happening here now without thousands of people volunteering in my county alone. I haven't heard from Brad. I sent him a PM. He may be heading up relief work with his church if his church/home were not hit. I could imagine that I would be much busier with my own church but we are too small to do much. So, I will encourage all of my people to buy supplies that are needed to give to people without homes, power, or relief workers. Most of my church is 70+ years old and giving is about all they can do.

| My boss, who used to live in the 5 Points area and work in the Franklin office for Terminix, has really been shaken up by this event. It missed his old house by about 3 blocks. | |

| They have now confirmed that there were 4 separate tornadoes Tuesday morning. The one that struck Nashville had over a 50 mile damage path with separate smaller twisters hitting in Wilson Co. and Smith Co. and with the monster F4 in Putnam county. The death count is still holding at 25, but there are still 20 people unaccounted for.

| For the past 20 years, our worst tornado season is in February or March. This started back in 1999 when the area was hit with over 50 tornadoes in a single day. When the temperature suddenly spikes and rain is coming behind it, you can bet that there will be a strong storm involved.

| Wow, 4 tornadoes at once, seems like a lot...but 50 in one day is just crazy. I have to say I'm a little surprised there wasn't a greater loss of life, during this recent event. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Remember the April 27th storm here that hit Tuscaloosa. It then headed straight for us here in Birmingham. Thank God it picked up just before it hit Birmingham proper as it passed right over us and we found invoices from Northport in our yard!! The power of those things is awesome and I had several friends who were close to the track. Prayers you guys way in all of this. Has any one heard from Brad? | |

https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/t8853-pastor-brad-update-tonados-and-new-album Thanks for that. Went to his facebook last night and saw it and meant to post that here but got distracted. Had a lot of friends who were close to the track of those and it all reminds me so much of the April Tuscaloosa /Birmingham storm. They need support there both Prayer and physical.
