Wait, Dave Roberts on lead vocals? Where did you find this? I thought Peter S. from Laudamus was going to sing for the new Whitecross.
Vocally this guy does a pretty decent job of staying faithful to the original without sounding like a clone

This was on CMR, I don't think he's going to be the vocalist, just a guest for a show or two.

Oh, I see now. It does say "guest vocalist" in the image on the video.

I finally listened to the video. Personally, if they come back with this style and sound with NEW material and not just re-recorded Whitecross classics, I'd be all for this. I loved Scott's vocals with Whitecross, but Dave Roberts definitely has the pipes. I personally don't mind his sound, and he could probably do a lot with Rex's style of playing.
Changing vocalists could have the Van Halen effect for Whitecross. While Sammy added new dimensions to the band after David was gone, a lot of early fans just never accepted the change. Some of us heard the old sound in what they were doing as well as the change in direction and decided to go along. It caused division in the fans, but they still put out some stellar albums. Hopefully, Whitecross can do the same.
