I've been meaning to post this here for a few days but I was hoping to get some of my wife's pictures to put here (because her camera is way better than mine in low-light conditions...but she is working the last several days...so I'm doing it without her pictures). But I have to say we had a great time at the Bloodgood concert event this last Thursday. The first 1-1/2 hours was watching the "In The Trenches" Bloodgood documentary on the big screen. I have to say it was really good, if you get the opportunity to watch it you certainly should. They interview almost every member (past and present)....including Oz Fox. There is also a brief interview with Darrel Mansfield.
After a short intermission the band came on and did about an hour's worth of material. Lots of familiar songs, "Seven" "Crucify/The Messiah", "Top of the Mountain" "All Stand Together" (and several others). From the latest album they played "Pray", "In The Trenches" & "Runaway". They even had a professional photography/film crew there, and said if the footage turned out well they might be posting a video of one of their classic songs.
The crowd was mostly older (several even older than me and Mrs Staybrite...we are the same age a young 52). I would say only about 30% of the audience appeared to be in their 30's or younger. The theater holds just over 700 seats and I would have said they were at or near 90% capacity (possibly a little less). They did sell out of all their VIP packages. Mrs. Staybrite did get video of a complete song that turned out pretty decent. I just wish she could have recorded it in landscape mode to get more of the band, but she was sandwiched between two taller guys and the video would have just featured their shoulders on either side.
I did get her to post the video she took to her youtube channel though, full song of "The Messiah".

Glad you got to go! I got to see them twice back in the '80s and this show would have been fun for sure.

Very cool! They had mentioned somewhere that they hadn't played in the Seattle area since '92 or '93. So nobody has seen them play here is quite some time.

Very cool and kind of sad not too many younger folk were there. There's been kind of a resurgence in this sound in the secular realm but I wonder if that's mostly out of the U.S.?

Man, I wish I could have seen that! Bloodgood is one of those bands that will never come to Tennessee.

It's have been some years ago that Bloodgood was on a festival in Germany. I was impressed of the word Les Carlson has spoken to the crowd and from their music.

Who was the guitarist standing behind Michael Bloodgood?

Craig Church, apparently he performed with them on their video release "Rock Theater: Alive In America & Shakin the World". Craig and Paul even traded off leads for one of the songs. And Kevin Wisler was back on drums

The documentary video did indicate that they were much more accepted in Europe by the secular fans than here in the U.S., so that might be part of it.
