Y'all know I'm a fan of finding new bands that I've never heard of. Until today, I'd never heard of Pergamum. Check out their cover of Awesome God. It's not Pantokrator by any stretch (lacks the raw power imo), but it's beautiful in it's own original way. This came out in 2012. Man the internet can be a cool place

Forgot to mention to those averse to growl. It's got screamo. For those averse to choral loveliness. It's got choral loveliness. : )

I actually really liked it until the "core" vocals kicked in (just not a fan of those). Still pretty cool musically.

After posting the above video I went on to find this one. No vocals. Just a heavy take on the classics...

Another vote for good until the core vocals.

It seems like I've heard of them. I'll give it a listen later--I'm not sure my geometry class would appreciate it.

These days it'd probably be pop classics they would appreciate. Sigh

Not bad. Pantokrator's version is still better

I agree. Pantokrator owns it, but this version led me to the rest of the Pergamum catalogue, which is surprisingly varied and actually pretty great

It's a strange blend of country and hip-hop. One of my students actually was listening to this on repeat the other day.

Sorry to be rude, but....BLeeeeech. The beat is even out of tune to the vocal and piano. Blaah blah blaaaah. That is SO bad
