| So I'm reading through all of this and it seems like a lot of work to do it the way your doing it. And then to lose tracks must be so frustrating. Have you considered using EZDrummer II? It costs about $120 but it is so worth it and super easy to use. You can choose from many different kits, it includes a mixer, and the end results sound very professional and not 'programmed'.
I do not own a drum kit, but wish I did. But if I did then I would probably attempt to create my own drum tracks too. SO I guess I can see where you're coming from.

If I were recording with a DAW, that would be a good way to work. Since I am still using a digital recorder (Kord D-3200), I have no idea if I could integrate something like that into the process. So, recording drums manually is the only way to go for me at this time. On future projects, I certainly will be trying some computer based recording. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| You could do the drums on your computer then record them onto your recorder then record your other parts. | |

So, recording drums manually is the only way to go for me at this time. On future projects, I certainly will be trying some computer based recording. Download AUDACITY. It's absolutely free with no strings attached. I use it a lot for recording. Create the drum track in EZDrummer II then save it as a wav file. Drag and drop it right into Audacity. Then sit there for a few hours with your guitar and develop riffs around the drum track. AUDACITY is very easy to record, delete, record again, delete, record again, save, then adjust, add effects, etc. Then record a second guitar track for the same thing and pan the first way left and the second way right to get the big stereo effect. Then lay down the bass line. Then record a guitar solo. Then listen to the thing a few times making slight level adjustments along the way. Then when you think you have it just about right, or about 90%, send the file over to Jenny Stokes for lyrics, keys, vocals. Oh wait...that last part only applies to me

| I recorded the Joshua's Creed album on Audacity. Rhythm Rascal allows each drum piece to be exported as it's own wav file so each piece is on its own track. | |

For now, my older equipment will have to do.

| I've just had a chat with John Helton, and he said he'd be up for doing some drums for a future album for you Chris _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness

On the next album, using anyone will be easier as I plan to revamp my studio and record with a computer. I will try Audacity before I spend big bucks on other recording suites. I have two interfaces that I am looking at as well as a midi input that would allow me to add keys, strings, or program drums more easily should I go that route. I can make these upgrades for around $300. To be honest, I don't understand why older bands complain about the cost of recording. Spend the money and do it yourself.
