| The best to you from K-Mart Radiooooooo KMRT! Ever want to hear the music played in Kmart? No? You mean you don't like the Muzak selection of KMart? Well, here it is..... Hours and hours and hours and hours and hour and .......... https://archive.org/details/KmartJuly1992Generic That's one sample, there are tons more. I worked at K-Mart while I was in high school so these bring back some memories of the songs played over and over. It got old, we would play the same cassette for a month or more and the songs repeat. I think it was on a 90 minute cassette. And some months we wouldn't get a new tape so we would play the previous one until it started to drag haha. I remember all the "commercials" too. "Hi, Dusty Lenscap here from the K-Mart photo center!" | |

| Ha ! That's awesome ! Some classy easy listening with K-Commercials thrown in. I love music nostalgia like that. I digitized a few tapes I had recorded of my fav Christian radio station and the DJs talking back in '91 and 92.
We actually lost our Kmart in '92 when the 7.5 earthquake hit. The fault went right thru the building and the land was no longer stable - haven't built anything there since.

| It's hard to believe that so many of their stores are closing. When I was a kid they were everywhere. I have a lot of good memories going their as a kid and getting popcorn and cherry slushi while looking at Hot Wheels or Star Wars action figures. | |

| yeah I remember doing the same thing (looking at Hot wheels and Star Wars figures, KMart had the best selection). They never uprgaded buildings and couldn't keep up with Walmart. I always liked KMart better. Our last one closed down here right before Christmas. We used to have 3 and now we have none. It was pretty sad going into the store when they were closing. It was like telling an old friend goodbye.

| We still have ours, but I don't know for how long.
KMart never updated their buildings. They did away with snack bars which used to be a huge thing for them. They never really kept up electronicly with music, movies, or gadgets, either. While they do have some nice clothing and shoes, you can get that anywhere. You can get bedding an linens anywhere. When it comes to household cleaning supplies, you can buy them cheaper elsewhere for the same brands. While I hate to see KMart close, they have done it to themselves.
Also, Millennials love buying online. Amazon has helped nail the coffin shut on many a business. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

I have a lot of good memories going their as a kid and getting popcorn and cherry slushi while looking at Hot Wheels or Star Wars action figures. When we were kids, Walmart had less than 900 stores nationwide. I keep looking for ours to be in the next list of closings, but I guess it stays alive because it is the only store like it on the north end of the city, whereas Walmart and Meijer (and until last year Target) are all within a mile of each other on the south side.
