I was listening to a band today that I almost never hear anything about and was wondering if there are bunch of rather somewhat obscure bands the rest of us listen to regularly that many of the members here might not even know about. Here are a few that I rather enjoy just from the last few years. I included a link so you can hear what they sound like (if you want to). I'd be interested in hearing some of the ones you guys/gals enjoy as well.
Enduring House - Come Alive (2015) Very blues based hard rock band. The have a previous album as well. https://www.reverbnation.com/enduringhouse
Reign - Reign (2015) interesting mix of hard rock, and progressive touches with both male and female lead vocals https://www.reverbnation.com/reignrocks
Eternal Voyager - The Battle of Eternity (2014) "True metal" galloping classic era U.S. power metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAjp8Nt44gc
Irish - Greatest Hits (2014) Actually a reissue/compilation from an old 80's band I had never heard of before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSH9CHfvtDo
Godcry - Reborn (2014) More of a modern sounding rock band with female vocals (yeah I'm a sucker for female fronted bands. https://www.reverbnation.com/godcryrock
Bayless - Sabatoge (2014) & Within My Reach (2013). More of a modern hard rock/gothic sounding outfit with both male and female lead vocals. https://www.reverbnation.com/bayless
Beyond the Rage - Burn Me Away (2012). Almost alternative metal, driving with good grooves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viwFoM_MvSA
Walking With Kings-Walking With Kings (2012). Modern 80's metal. Self-proclaimed as Stryper meets Skillet. Great stuff, really wish they would put out a second album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgWkwzwzto0

Walking With Kings was a free album at the time. Really good stuff, especially for the price!!!

I was just at their website yesterday and it looks like they still have it as a free download.

Thanks for the WWK tip. D/L'd and will listen later when I can.
I've been a BTR fan since their previous incarnation, Broken 34:18 - one of my faves. Another one album wonder sadly.
Also liked Bayless and Reign.

These will probably mostly be extreme metal bands... but here are some that come to mind!
-Amelioration - grindcore/dub-step - probably about as obscure as it gets... -Cloth - black/doom - two very good EPs from the guys of Dalit and Stronghold -Death Therapy - groovy rock/death metal - solo project Jason Wisdom (previously of Becoming The Archetype) -Faithless Minutes Devoured - funeral doom/drone - only released one album but it's pretty good -Melech - progressive/melodic death metal - side project of two guys from Pantokrator -Orationem - black metal - Pretty atmospheric with straight-up worship lyrics -The Slave Eye - melodic black metal - really great stuff; highly recommend.

I really like some doom stuff (but not the death/doom or epic-doom so much), and I keep meaning to check these guys out.

Well since it's funeral doom, it's mostly got the death metal growls, though there are quite a bit of cleans too. Here's a song:
But if you're looking for traditional doom (Place Of Skulls, etc.), a somewhat obscure band that I highly recommend is Under The Sun. They released one album back in 2010 I think so I didn't include them but they are very good:

Here are a few strong contenders:
Infidel Rising - power/progressive metal featuring members of Millennial Reign: https://www.reverbnation.com/infidelrising
Lipstick - eighties melodic metal of the hair/glam variety. Certain critics have panned the group, but I kind of like them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IZKqJQc24E
White Lighter - modern/alternative rock with Ozzy influenced lead vocals: http://store.northernrecords.com/album/white-lighter
Sonic Divide - a joining of AOR, melodic rock and commercial hard rock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1StwL151cw

Oh man I should have included this band. That album they put out in 2013 was one of my favorites for the year. Great stuff.

Don't remember hearing of them but I just did a quick internet search to see what kind of music they are and found a thread on some website called Christian Hard Music.

Ok, this ain't funny! I did the same search and came up with nothing.
Btw, K, they're Finnish. I know you like some Finnish bands. Next time I'll get really obscure and break out Stryper or somethig like that.

Most definitely. Especially that one guy from Seattle. He's all "Uh, I'm from Seattle and we made Starbucks and have the Mariners and the Seahawks... blah blah blah..."
