I've been whining around about how I am putting back on rapidly the weight I worked so hard to lose.  Well, I know I won't do it without accountability and encouragement from others.  I also need more prayer and some form of exercise.

Who is willing to take the journey together?  Several of us need to and have voiced that this is a change we need to make.  We could be one another's accountability partners.  I would even be okay with those involved in the group getting one another's phone numbers and actually calling each other rather than just doing it here.

Anyone else interested?

First thing everyone needs to do is send me your phone numbers via PM.  I will send them to each of us with our user name, or share your real name if you want.

I need to be involved myself at some point. I have been so busy at work and dealing with issues at home that I have had no time to exercise in the last 2 weeks at ALL.

Stress level has been somewhat high. We had to have our hot water lines in the house re-piped due to galvanized pipe and I had to miss a day of work and spent over $2000 to get it fixed. This week BOTH vehicles were broke down. I thought the van was fixed and last night the check engine light came back on (I know what it is and so does my mechanic. He is an honest guy and felt bad he missed something so he told me it was an easy fix and told me how to fix it. He even said he would come over to my house and fix it for me free of charge problem is it will have to wait until Sat). So I will have to go buy this part and fix it myself but I don't have time until Sat morning and hope the minivan makes it 2 more days. My truck radiator blew last weekend and I spent last Sunday fixing it myself to save money.... bad idea the transmission line going to the radiator would not connect so my truck spent some time in the shop with the transmission line that I apparently messed up "doing it myself"...... In Dec 2015 our roof leaked, I paid $2000 to have it fixed. First time it rained it leaked in the same spot in our dining room. They FINALLY came out and fixed the repair on Wed..... I woke up at 3 AM this morning to the sound of storming and go in the dining room and drip  drip drip... Still leaks! So I had to go out in a lightening storm at 3:15 AM and throw a tarp over the area and carry a ton of bricks up a ladder in the pouring rain and wind (I had a head lamp on so I could see) and try to keep the tarp from blowing away as I try to position it. I know if anyone could see me I looked like an idiot because I didn't want to get my work clothes wet so I am on the roof in boxers and tennis shoes trying to get it positioned... As soon as I did I went back in the house and the drip slowed down then stopped. So I woke up my wife and told her what happened and her response was "it's just the devil doing all of this stuff to our house, family and vehicles".

So anyway (to make a long story longer) once I get past these issues and can get caught up at work I will be able to exercise again and keep track of the junk I am eating. This all started in Nov with our dog. He had to have surgery or he was going to die. He had the surgery and died anyway. After that problem after problem with our home and vehicles have multiplied and i have not had a good workout or have watched what I have eaten since November.

So I may end up a little late to the party but i want to be involved as well. (Just don't serve cake at this support group because at this point I will eat a couple of slices). If I had to guess my weight right now I would say 215. Not bad but NOT where I want to be either. I would like to be 185-190.

I've been all over the place in my adult life, as low as 175, and as high as 280! affraid

Currently around 265, 220 would be reasonable...

I'd kill to be 215.  Ok, maybe that's a little extreme.  I weighed myself this morning at 249.  I'd like to get below 200.  I'm only 5'10", so according to BMI numbers, around 175 is my healthy weight, but I'm built big, so my doctor says I could probably be fine in the 190s.

Due to a bad disc, I have shrunk to a mere 6'1 1/2".  I used to be 6'2".  As of this morning, I am at 290.  I used to weigh 325 and dropped down to 268.  I have since put 22 lbs. back on and hate it.

FYI, at work today on my off day. If I can get outta here at a pretty good time I am going to go to the fitness center and work out for at least 20 minutes on the cardio machine. It's just so hard, especially after working on an off day to get motivated to do that when all I wanna do is go home at this point.

If I can start a workout today hopefully it will lead to Sunday and Monday and so on. I have not been to the fitness center in about 3 weeks due to being so busy and dealing with broken items on my house,

I will be sending out phone numbers this afternoon, guys.  This is something that I have to do as I am back up 22 lbs. from what I had originally lost.  I don't want to go back to where I was.  I want this to be the last time I have to lose weight.  Ever.  I want to be free indeed.

I think we need a game plan--something we all can do.  I propose doing this:

Weight Loss Support Group 21_day10

I want to add pastas and wheat bread (the body stores all bread as fat) to the list.  I will propose, however, that you may drink ONE soda per day so you aren't jonesing for one.  Your body will be unhappy for a couple of days as you get off the addictive stuff.  We're going to eat 3 meals a day and snack on things like nuts, some fruits, and veggies.  I am thinking of getting some celery and peanut butter.  It will fill you up fast and hold you for hours.

Our goal, if you will read labels when you shop, is to eat no more than 35-50 carbs per day.  It is hard, but doable.

ARE YOU WITH ME, MEN?

Pork rinds have almost no carbs at all, so they are a great for the low carb diet.

You are correct.  Cheese sticks (not the breaded kind) are great snacks as are mixed nuts.  If you gotta have something chocolate, Atkins makes some great candies and snack bars that fit well within our plan.

I did well today with the 21 day challenge.  I am around 30 carbs for the day and have only had one Sprite Zero all day.  Don't worry or think about the 21 days.  We only have to do this for one day.  Today is behind us.  Tomorrow starts a new day.  Feel free to text one another with anything you try that is extremely tasty that you found that fits within our parameters.  Or, if you find something biblical that you think speaks to our addiction, share it.  Call me if you feel you are weak.  Heck, call me to make sure I am staying on track.

This is a great time to make a PERMANENT change, fellas!

I'm doing horrible....lot of stress at work and home causes me to eat too much. I'm doing much better on my sugar intake (only two sodas in the last 2-1/2 weeks) but my carbs are still too high in the bread department and my portion control isn't so good.
