Something about that song reminds me of Nelson and you're right, I haven't heard of them. Good one.

You are right, I've never heard of this band. In what year are the original demos released?

I've got that Lex Rex on cassette from way back then..there's a couple of cool songs, but some of it is pretty bad.

The above song is the only one I have ever heard. Found it today while looking around I had never even heard of that band.

I tried to like that Lex Rex album but just could not get into it. I ended up trading it off.

Ok, for non-metal instruments this is pretty darned radical.

In honor of the Passion week, I had to share this oldie but goodie that watches the crucifixion through the eyes of the thief on Jesus's right side. Enjoy!
It does start off slow, but it speed up later on.

Rumor had it that there was a second album by the band, but I've had no luck finding it.

Actually, that IS the second album by Lex Rex. They did an independent album prior to this that was cassette only. I have some lower quality MP3s of it that I tried to remaster. They sound decent but not great. The first album was heavier and this CD was more radio friendly.

Yeah, it's spelled correctly on the band's album. For some reason whoever posted the video to youtube got the spelling wrong.

So I certainly wouldn't call this a "secular band" but definitely not a Christian group (but it is a secular song). However there is a Christian connection. It is one of Ken Tamplin's vocal academy students Gabrielle Guncikova along with Ken Mary on drums (Magdallan, Impellitteri, House of Lords). Also Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, etc.) on bass and Alex Skolnick (of Testament) on guitar. This is an amazing cover

Whoa! That band Sarepta is awesome! I just checked them out after the above song was so good and found that album is very good! I can’t believe I’d never heard of them!

That was cool, Staybrite! Great to see young bands like that.
Also, talking of Sarepta... they only released one album, and were working on a follow up (even releasing one song) but nothing happened. Shame, as I loved that album, and if it wasn't for Theocracy, it would have made my album of the year in 2011.

I really wish we could see another album from Sarepta, their debut was fantastic (as is that one single you posted above).
