Hoping to start a new series here that anyone can feel free to add #2, #3, #4 etc. I would just suggest that you pick an older album (say 8+ years?), and try not to have 20 different active threads going at once. Since this is my lame idea I will start with one I was listening to recently.....
Shout - Shout Back 1999
Kind of hard to believe this album is 16 years old now (that 90's just don't seem that long ago). I think I got this album in a trade several years back and was more than happy to get it. Supposedly it was a reunion album of sorts with Ken Tamplin and most of the rest of the Shout band members. It has some fantastic songs on it (even if it does get a little ballad heavy near the end). The album has a slew of cool songs on it, and my favorites would probably be "Dreams For Sale" and "I'm Movin' On". What do you think of the album, is it in your collection? Do listen to it anymore? Are you even a Shout fan?

Here is a youtube vid that has two songs from the album. "Dreams for Sale" and "More than Kisses"

I did a Ken Tamplin anthology listen not too long ago and kind of went back and forth between albums in no particular order. I had forgotten how good this album was overall. Even the ballads at the end didn't bother me anymore. Overall, it was a solid disc but not what fans wanted from Shout. Had this been a Ken Tamplin solo disc, no one would have cared. However, fans can be fickle and didn't give this the chance they should. I am proud to have this in the coolection.

Never had this one and knew nothing about it until about 4 or 5 years ago. Would like to hear it. I loved Shout back in the day. A couple of years ago I got a copy of It Won't Be Long and to me it wasn't as good as I remember it. Still good, I just remember liking it more back in 1988 or so.

The worst part of the Shout Back album is the cover where Ken has his shirt off and you can see his old man titties.

I actually don't have the first shout album, but when I compare "Shout Back" to "In Your Face" I have to confess that it sounds more like Ken's early 3 solo albums than it does a "Shout" album. Still good stuff. I traded away two Tamplin solo albums several years back and really regret it.

I am not giving up my Ken Tamplin solo discs. I have all original copies of those--not the KMG reissues. Sadly, the first two Shout albums are from the KMG double release.

I have all their album, including shout back, on mp3 -never obtained originals of every album... however, I do own 2 Shout albums on vinyl. I dig all their albums, and have a soft spot for the first release as that was the first one I ever heard. I bought their 1st album on cassette and played it often as a new believer. The lyrics really spoke to me and I wore that tape out. Sammy Hagar's cousin has a lot of talent, that's for sure.

I like Shout Back, but haven't listened to it in years. Out of all the Tamplin albums I like his S/T album the best. I think the cover is pretty cool too!
