Saw someone post about this band at the CMR so I just listened to their latest album on Spotify. It is good melodic metal, I think several people here would dig it. This isn't the same Messenger from the U.S. (Virginia I believe) with a classic hard rock sound but a younger band out of Sweden and their sound is more 80's melodic metal with some modern influences thrown in.

I like the sound but am wondering about those song lengths. I might try it, or I might not. I haven't decided yet.

I'm not big on really long songs either (but a bit more tolerant than you). I listened to all of it and none of them seemed to long to me. Give it a listen on spotify before you decide whether or not to buy it.

Four out of six songs are around the four minute mark, or under. I just picked this up. It rocks a little harder than I expected. Nice surprise. Tear Down These Walls, one of the two longer songs, is absolutely awesome!

I was a bit confused about having more bands with the name Messenger.
Me too.

What I figured out is that this Messenger is not a band from the USA.

The song in the preview is reminiscent of Enter Sandman.

I still need to check these out. I've been gone for a week to the planet of Florida to visit the land of Disneyworld.
