| Even though it has been years since I last listened to this, I decided to run it through the remastering process and give it another listen. While it is still my least favorite of all the Saint material, there are a few things I noticed:
1. There are still several cool songs on here.
2. These songs would have been much stronger had they used a live drummer instead of a drum machine. The drum machine sometimes doesn't fit with what the rest of the band is doing. For me, it was a detractor.
3. While many fans fussed about Josh Kramer being absent from the recording, I don't mind. This guy, whatever his name was, actually did a good job with these songs.
4. The couple of alternative songs don't fit with the rest of Saint's sound and could have been more suited on a solo project by the bassist.
All in all, it isn't a BAD album, but it won't ever be my favorite. My favorite is still "In The Battle". It is the album that truly made me a fan and made me go back and rediscover the awesomeness of Saint. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| The Runner is the only song that really grabbed me, maybe a remaster would help with the rest. Deceived has a great part in the middle where the singer shows some grit but it doesn't fit the rest of the song. In the Battle is great but Hell Blade is awesome. | |

| I've removed this one from my collection. I purchased the download pack that had The Perfect Life with it. I deleted it after one listen. | |

| Yeah, I don't like it at all and the drums are distracting. I do like the re-recorded To Live Forever that they did with Josh. I remember reading they also recorded The Runner as well but left it off for some reason (Desperate Night album I think). I haven't listened to it in years but I don't miss it. I have it on the double CD collection. | |

| I have it in my collection. I won't be getting rid of it. I don't listen to it. I don't like it.

| I only have it in my collection because I bought the first four albums on a two disc set (can't remember who put it out). I actually like at least two of the songs on it, but it really doesn't sound much like Saint. I do still listen to it on occassion, but I listen to almost everything in my collection. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I agree, not a great album, but not bad either. I'm a Josh fan, though that's not a deal breaker for me (though I am glad that Josh was on vox when I saw Saint live). Tim Lamberson did great on the album, and until this thread I never really knew why the album didn't "sound right" - I don't have a very good "ear" like ya'all do, but now that a "drum machine" was mentioned, I can kind of hear it now.
For me, though I like the album, it's the cover art that makes me lower and shake my head. I mean, Saint has never been known for "great" album art, but The Perfect Life is THE winner for laziest cover art. Booorrrrrriiinnnggg
