Who put the caches in these spots?

Any geocacher that has found 25 or more caches can place a geocache.  Of course, there are guidelines that Groundspeak has set that are based on laws governing each country.  They also have more localized guidelines for hiding geocaches based on local laws.  So, if you are familiar with geocaching and know the guidelines, you could hide them.  I've hidden somewhere around 60.

After you find a geocache, you will sign the log (notebook, scroll, folded up paper) with your unique user name.  Mine is alldatndensum.  Who'd would have imagined, right?  Anyway, after you sign the log as proof that you found it, you replace (or rehide) the cache the same as you found it.  This way, the next geocacher gets the same chance to find the geocache as you did.  It also helps keep a geocache hidden from people who do not play the game.  We call them muggles.

Is there also something in there besides the paper? Or is it just looking for a specific spot and you sign the paper and that's it?

Sometimes you can find geocoins or travelbugs in the caches.
On the geocache webside you can see where the travelbug or geocoin is coming from and what the mission is.
We've found a travelbug that has to go to Istanbul in Turky.


The highest geocache in Europe is to find on the Kleine Matterhorn.

Some of the larger containers will have different trinkets in them.  You are free to take one of them, but you are expected to trade something of equal value.  I rarely trade anything and just enjoy finding the geocaches.

What if there's a geocache in the white house. XD

It is a federal building so that has been banned since right after Sept. 11, 2001.  You cannot put a geocache near ANY federal building or park.

Have found 15 more caches last week.

Nice!  I need to get busy during the summer break!

I went out today with a buddy and we managed to find 23 and didn't find 4.  We were all over the place today and drove a lot of miles.

That's a good goal 23 found caches.

Of those 23, we did one virtual cache and a more simplistic puzzle cache.  We tried a couple of others but couldn't solve them.

I did manage to find some time with the trip to Huntsville to grab 8 caches.  I got a couple down around the TN/AL state line and the rest in Huntsville around my hotel and the Lowe Mill.

I had some errands to run yesterday and found 4 more.  One was a puzzle cache that I have had solved for a while.

I am going on a boat trip this weekend to grab some caches around Percy Priest Lake.  These caches are available only by boat and will help me to fill in my D/T chart.

That would be fun.

We are to Switzerland to enjoy the high mountains there and to find the highest geocache in Europe and find more caches.

Time to head out to the lake for a day of sun, fun, and geocaching.  I hope we don't see any snakes.  If we do, I got a little something for them.

I ended up getting 18 caches yesterday!  I found one before our boating trip.  The rest were from island hopping.  I had 9 places remaining on my D/T chart.  Now, I have only 2 remaining.  A friend is sending me some info on a couple to help me finish that this year.

I don't know when I will try them, but I have a couple of local caches I can do that would finish my D/T chart that many cachers refer to as a "fizzy challenge".

I went out today and found 21 caches.  It was a much beeded day of relaxation.
