I did four caches yesterday after work in Nashville.  I had to go into the city for a couple errands.  Anyway, 3 were micros and one was a regular.  One of the micros was an FTF for me!!!

WE did finish the Jack Trail Geotour a couple of weekends ago and ordered our commemorative geocoins.  Here is a photo of mine.  The darker one is for finishing the trail and the lighter is for being one of the first 200 people to do so.

Geocaching - Page 8 Jack_t10

Of course, the day that we mailed our forms for the coins, 5 new caches came open in this series.  We will go find them, but thankfully the TN Tourism Dept. recognized that we had completed all of the caches that there was in this series and gave us credit.  We will find the newest 5.  It will get harder and harder to do this trail as I understand that there are about 15 more that will open before this is complete.

I am off from work for the week after the ice storm that hit Sunday night and Monday.  3 inches of ice in places.  Then, we got an extra half inch of snow overnight.  So, while I usually like to take snow days and go geocaching, I doubt I could find much of anything right now.

3 inches of ice, that's spoiling the fun to go out for caching.
Or you might use the skies.
I hate it when the weather is spoiling the fun of caching.

Its geocaching season!!!!

I went to a Middle Tennessee Geocachers Club (MTGC) event yesterday at the Adventure Science Museum.  I then found 7 more caches around a very busy area of Nashville.  I also discovered a cache while looking at the downtown Nashville map that I actually found 1 year ago today but somehow forgot to log.  I fixed that.

Currently at 5333.  That is a long way from my goal of 6000 finds for this year:  667 to be exact.

What a caching trip.  We left early yesterday morning and went from here to Nashville, then down through Memphis into Arkansas.  We cached around the small town of Marion, Arkansas and then headed back into Memphis to grab a cache outside of Sun Records (where Elvis was discovered) and two on each end of Elvis Presley Memorial Drive (where Graceland is).  Then we headed into Mississippi to the town of Southaven.  We cached around there quite a bit, got supper, and headed back to Jackson, TN.  We got a hotel there.  Today, we did around 60 in Jackson before heading back to Watertown.  I drove a little over 800 miles in two days and found over 90 caches total.

Wow 90 cahces in two days.
That must help you to reach a new goal.

                              7000

Have you searched for traditionals, or was it a powertrail?
Was there an Elvis caches to do in Memphis?

There was an Elvis cache in Memphis.

We did a lot of micros, some full sized, a virtual, a multi-stage, a couple of mystery/puzzle caches, and a letterbox hybrid.

I managed to find 25 today of various sizes and difficulties.  I managed to find a 3/1.5, a 4/2, and a 5/1.5.  We found several full sized caches and some micros.  Twenty five is a good number!

That's a very good number.
I like it to find caches of various sizes and diffulculties.

For me, it's time to find some more travelbugs.

Having a puppy makes it a bit harder to find many caches at one day or do a powertrail.
We have found some caches and our puppy went with us.
Yep, he's a good dog.

Find more travelbugs?  Just get out and find caches.  You will find them.  I found three while in Mississippi and in Memphis/Jackson.  They are out there, but never trust the cache page to tell you as many get lost, are never logged properly, etc.  I hate it when a newbie finds a travelbug of mine as I know it won't be handled properly.

I went to an event for Pi Day on Saturday and found 11 more caches.  I also stopped at a local winery and bought a couple more wine boxes for building guitars.

Today, I went to daydreamermom's 1K event.  You all don't know her, but she is sabidoo's (my brother) wife.  She has now found her 1000th cache!

I captured one Munzee in Quebec City during some free time on a ministry trip, before my phone shut down in the cold (the iPhone 5 has that annoying tendency).

I tried doing Munzees but just don't like them as much.  I mean--its just a bar code.  Most of the ones I found were not even hard to find.  They were just there.  If you were looking for one and had crappy coverage at that moment, you couldn't log it anyway.  I eventually just quit and decided to focus only on geocaching.

I agree that real geocaches are much better (except when they're not winter friendly!), but it's usually quicker to just go up to the thing and capture it. And, it's pretty easy to just do both.

I was going to attempt one cache today.  I was having trouble getting to the spot with the truck.  I ended up backing up and ramming a phone pole.  My rear bumper is now twisted, my tailgate won't open, and my left rear fender is crumpled.  Not a good day.  Sad Sad Sad
