| So I picked up a Gary Chapman CD at a thrift store for a buck just to give him a listen (since I always dug Amy Grant). It got me wondering, since they divorced in 99, what he'd been up to since that time.
I was rather bummed to find out that he kind of spiraled out of control... never knew about his second wife and their divorce, getting busted for DUI and smoking pot. He's gone through bankruptcies and is currently losing his "mansion" (why he has a mansion is beyond me, but to each their own)....
So it seems he really didn't do well for himself after Amy. Real shame. But it does help to understand Amy's irreconcilable differences with Gary.
I hope and pray that he gets on track. I hear he's involved with some different projects here and there, but he sure has made a stinky name for himself. | |

| You guys ! omg ! Everyone knows Amy married her mentor Gary. Sigh ! Amy was just a kid when she got her start in the 70s, around 17 years old. Gary came alongside her as he was already immersed in the CCM scene with his own music. She got all starry eyed with this guy and a couple/few years later they married (early 80s), they were married all the way up to 1998 and had 2 kids !! They toured together, sang on each other's albums, made guest appearances together on shows and were always together on the Dove awards... After their divorce in 98 is when I lost touch with Gary, cuz the spotlight was on Amy. Everyone knew she immediately married Vince Gill of country music fame, and plenty of mud slinging went on (as always happens in "Christianity" today). But I had always wondered what happened to Gary. There, you've been Amy-educated.  | |

If you look a little deeper into that, GARY remarried way before Amy did.
