While they do sound a lot alike, I am pretty sure it was Stephen Pearcy & the rest of the Ratt pack I was talking about.

While cleaning my room the other day I unearthed a copy of Five Minute Walk Records Greatest Hits 1995-1999 that I bought on eBay a couple years ago and am thoroughly enjoying the sounds of mostly forgotten bands. That label put out some great stuff. It's a shame they're not around anymore and that I didn't know about any of these bands when they were current (though as a teen I had limited funds for buying new CDs back then).

I used to have that, but I can't remember any of the bands, weren't they mostly alternative rock bands on that label?

The last couple of days I have listened to Bone Prophet and the Joe Lewis Band. I know--modern rock and blues probably don't make sense. I like it, however!

It seems that way. Here's a list of all the artists included on that compilation: Black Eyed Sceva Dime Store Prophets Five Iron Frenzy Dryve Seven Day Jesus The W's The Electrics Mortal Model Engine (same as Black Eyed Sceva but with a different drummer) Rose Blossom Punch The Echoing Green Sherri Youngward My Brother's Mother
Either way it's a great album. Dime Store Prophets is probably my favorite ("Feels Like Rain", "All About You", etc.).

I would describe it as an interesting combination of "Mercy Me" meets something slightly heavier (maybe closer to current Skillet...but not at their heaviest). Lots of keys and modern guitars, but it doesn't completely fit within the modern rock mold...or even the modern worship mold. They hail from Great Britain and have a combination of male and female vocals.
Here is one of the better songs from the album. I downloaded it from e-music.
