Stryken - First Strike / Blitzkrieg
I've always believed that these guys had a lot of potential that never got to be released properly.

Where did you get the Blitzkrieg demo? I'd love to hear that.

I've been listening to the Georgia Satellites/Dan Baird and some David Lee Roth albums. I also listened to the first album by the Christian band Cornerstone.

"Heroes Will Be Heroes" by Cool Hand Luke
I'd forgotten how much I love this song until I found it while browsing my music collection on my computer earlier. I need to dust this CD off and listen to it again.

Eyes On the Prize / Mavis Staples Here I Am / Barren Cross Westboro / Decyfer Down Slow Suicide / Scott Stapp...
And on Spotify I accidentally came across The Hurricane's Eye by Jesse Roper which is excellent. Don't let the first minute fool you. Not metal, but give it a listen--loud. Disappointingly I heard another of his songs with fairly adolescent lyrics let's just say...

I'm not a huge fan of DD, but I really dig that Scarecrow album, and this easily one of my favorite tracks from that album.

I've been spinning Geoff Tate's S/T release from 2002 in the truck for several days now. I was quite surprised when i got it, as it's not what I expected from the former lead singer of a progressive metal band. However, I've really been enjoying it, as it is sometimes slow and relaxing, sometimes jazzy, and even one or two songs that sound like something DA would do.

While it was quite different from what Queensryche was doing at the time I found at least half of that first Tate solo album to be quite enjoyable.....can't say the same thing about his second solo album.
