| Ok I am working at the office today (can you tell?). Does anyone here have to work regularly on weekends? I have one of those 9-5 office jobs, and very seldom have to work on the weekends. On occasion I will get a job with a narrow deadline and will need to work the occasional Saturday. I wouldn't need to work today but I took Tuesday off, and don't want to use my vaction time....so I'm making my time up on a Saturday. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Sucks to be you. I guess inside your office is better than outside in the rain, since it rains there about what, 375 days per year?
Don't fret though. A lot of weeks I work Sunday-Friday and my days, a lot of the time, are 4a.m. to 9p.m.

| I only work on the weekends about 3 or 4 times a year. The rest of the time it's just normal 8.30 - 5. I've once worked in a job where I had to work saturdays, but I had monday off instead so it wasn't too bad. It actually felt like you kept getting long weekends.

Wow, I didn't think anyone under the age of 20 delivered newspapers anymore. I delivered papers for about 2 years when I was about your age. Do you get driven around by one of your parents or do you have to do it on foot/bike? - Sabidoo wrote:

Don't fret though. A lot of weeks I work Sunday-Friday and my days, a lot of the time, are 4a.m. to 9p.m. Even suckier part is that it is a sunny day (a rare event here in the spring)...... But at least I don't have to get up before 6:30......if I had to be at work a 4am I would probably get in a car wreck because I would fall asleep at the wheel just trying to get to work. - Fundy wrote:

That's pretty much me too but I probably do it more like 4 to 7 times a year. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I usually deliver my papers on foot, sometimes I take my bike. On weekends my parents have to drive me. Y'see, I live outside town, about 8km from the paper route; my school, however, is very close to the route. Ergo, approximately $90/month to pay my phone bills and whatnot. | |

| I did pretty much the same but I always had to ride my bike. My route started almost 4 miles (about 6 kilometers) and then my route was about 3 miles long. I'm thinking I probably made about $60 to $80 a month as well. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

Do you take a regualr day off during the week? Our pastor is always off on Mondays (but I think that is his only day off). _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I work Friday evening, sleep at the lodge Friday night and go back and work Saturday from 2:30 until 9:30. But it's ministry so I can't complain. Well, I do sometimes but I shouldn't. | |

Do you take a regualr day off during the week? Our pastor is always off on Mondays (but I think that is his only day off). Since I am considered "part time", I don't have a set number of hours that the church requires me to be there. So, I don't have to be at the church but 2 days a week. So, that's why I am a substitute teacher Mon. through Fri. The two jobs together pay me somewhat close to what I made before I volunteered for the lay off from Bridgestone 2 years ago. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

So techincally you don't really get a day off every week but at least you are doing something you enjoy considerably more than your previous job......sounds like a good trade to me. _________________ "I used to be indecisive..........
