| I had my brother (ya'll remember sabidoo, right?) come in and work on some drums today. We now have rhythm guitars, bass, vocals, and drums finished for 5 songs. I have to do leads or find guest players to finish three songs. I have a whole slew full of others to get recorded, but we are well under way!!!!
The blues album(s) are happening, Lord willing! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| So my interpretation of what you're up to as a brilliant musician is this: You've already done it all. You're now onto a new road, with different sounds and techniques. You're not too worried about what your fans like as this is now YOUR project that you're enjoying. Similar to Bill Menchen and his new out of the ordinary project... one that is clearly his interests and not that of his fans. Am I close, or am I way off ? I'm not saying this in a bad way, don't interpret me as being negative, I'm just guessing on this, and find it admirable for artists to stray from the norm into territory they're not known for... artists creating for their own enjoyment and not so concerned about punching out another album of the same style ? | |

I wouldn't call myself a brilliant musician. I have a hard time even getting paid doing music, so I must not be too good at it! I don't think I've necessarily done it all, either. Sure Mission Of One is fun, but I am just spinning my wheels with it. I don't see it going anywhere. I doubt there will ever be a full band, and I just don't enjoy playing like I used to. Well, until someone introduced me to a three string cigar box guitar! This has inspired me to just plug in a play and see what happens without any regards to style, fanbase, etc. I've been able to start making music without caring if it is metal enough or if it is too country or whatever. I've just thrown everything into a blender and stirred it with either a 3 or 4 string cigar box (or trophy) guitar. The songs I've written move me unlike any that I've done before. I've even started messing with some old MO1 songs that need to be reinterpretted. With the old songs and the new ones I've written, I have enough to record around 20 tunes. I plan on doing that! If I have a double album or release two albums at the same time, that's cool. I haven't decided for sure what to name the project but it will not be Mission Of One. This isn't a metal or even a hard rock project--it is blues with rock overtones (think SRV, Glenn Kaiser, ZZ Top, Skynrd, etc.). I'm tossing around the project names of Darkest Night or possibly HeavenSound. Both could work well within the blues genre. I hope to get some stuff finished and maybe some samples up before too long. Sadly, my summer break ends tomorrow and I have to report back to a job. That means less studio time and less time to build guitars, too!

Good idea to come up with another name, but I think it would be cool if it was something with the "Mission" name. Like maybe "Mission Blue", or something like that. Kind of keeping with your original name(s) but certainly something different. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I feel that most people who have heard of Mission Of One expect a little bit lower quality. I am thinking that a total change of name could shed any stigma associated with Mission Of One. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

If they think that, then they haven't listened to your last two albums. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Maybe you have the time in the vacations from school to work more to the funny cigar box guitars? To work more to the blues CD you are working on? Working on the blues CD, that's different than the rock CDs you have released with Mission Of One is asking for an other name for the "band". It's shows the Mission Of One fans this is an other project. I'm curious to listen to a sample when you are ready. Or in this case "you blues". | |

| Funny cigar box guitars? I think they are amazing!
I will be working on the songs as I can. There are a lot and I just need to make time for this. I have three guitars I am building right now that I want to get done before I do much else in the studio.

| I've written this because for me the sound of cigar box guitars sound so funny. I share your meaning that cigar box guitars are amazing. Believe me, I really like cigar box guitars. | |

| Oh, once you put pickups in them and run them through an amp or effects processor in the studio, you won't be able to tell that they are any different. However, some of the tracks I am recording through a mic so that I get the acoustic tone of these. This will help give me a unique sound that no one else is doing in the Christian market that I know of.
