| I'm not really a royalist, but like having national days off! Weather is predicted to be thunderstorms which could be interesting! It's been blazing hot for the last 5 days, almost the hotest on record for this time of year, but now the cold front has moved in. Oh well, let's hope they all bring umbrellas!
Will I be watching it on TV? I don't think so. Will YOU be watching it on TV? I don't know!

| I definitely won't be watching. I doubt I would watch a US Presidential wedding if we had one, either. I don't really like going to weddings unless I am officiating over them. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I think I'll watch what the news will show us about the royal wedding. My thought is they will say yes to each other without me watching this.
Fundy, great you have a day off tomorrow.

| Hmmm, a GERMAN guy with a useless title that allows his family to rob the Brits blind. Marrying a baby factory so that the bloodline continues.
I wonder if she will be 'offed' like Dianna once the heirs are bred?
Personally, I would rather be in Harry's shoes. ZERO responsibility, little to no chance of ever being king AND access to the pillaged loot. He will end up worse than a Kennedy...LOL

| We ended up going out to a local park and watching about 10 minutes of the event on a big screen (along with about 500-1000 others) then we went off on a minature steam train round the park.
It was a nice day. The wedding seemed to go well too.

| I saw a little footage of both families on the balcony presenting themselves to the vast audience of people outside. There were tons of them there.....I thought it was a Who reunion concert or something. There is no way even a fraction of those people could even see the Royal family (or the Middletons) up there.
So who pays for this big event Fundy? Is it totally tax-payer funded, or does the royal family kick-in for it? _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Regarding who pays, I'm not sure. I did find this out though...
Unfortunately, it's not going to be an easy question to answer. Royal weddings are notoriously extravagant, and any commoner can tell you that this one is going to be pretty pricey. How pricey, you ask? Well, despite the fact that neither Middleton nor her royal beau have ever cut an album or starred in a feature film (no, William's brother's antics don't count), their ceremony is widely expected to be one of the most expensive celebrity weddings of all time.
But the British citizenry can breathe a sigh of relief, as they're not going to be footing the bill. Both the queen and Prince Charles have agreed to "pay their share," though in the past, public funds have been used to finance royal events. While we're not quite sure how much "their share" will be, exactly, we're pretty confident they're going to pick up the vast majority of the total wedding tab. Tradition dictates that the bride's family pay for the ceremony, and Kate's parents have insisted on contributing, but this is one bash even those respectable millionaires can't afford.
Most realistic estimates place the final cost for the wedding around 12 million pounds, all of which will be covered by private funds. However, the state may have to pay a hefty sum to cover public services like increased police presence for security and traffic detail. _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... | Thanks Fundy, even if the populace has to pay for extra police security etc. I think it looks very well for the Royal family to pay the bulk of it.
