| Some years ago I have bought a new amp. But most of the time I see guitarist using a foot pedal for effects and distortion. What do you use only an amp with the sound affects on your amp or do you use a foot pedal too? I wonder now how hard to use is a foot pedal? And if you can get more sound affects with a foot pedal? | |

| Since I just play guitar occasionally, I just use the footswitch that came with the amp. I have my distortion control, and some reverb control that way. Other than that, I just use either a clean or distorted sound that I like.
When I record, though, I have a Line 6 POD that give me multiple tones, effects, etc. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| The larger amps have foot switches that will let you changes for preset channels and/or effects built into the amp. I used that when I was playing regularly with my amp. I did have an additional distortion pedal (but seldom used it). I also have a really nice tuner that is a foot pedal, and I always used that. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... I have a clip on tuner. You clamp it to the headstock of your guitar, and you tune through the wood.

| Interesting.....it would have to clamp on pretty tight if I was gonna use....I have a tendency to really "rock out" when I play.

Yes they did, but back in the 70's they were coreographed and people called them 'dance moves'. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I thought to use a footswitch is more easier than using the knobs on your amp while playing. Will ask my guitar teacher if I can use his when I have guitar lessons. | |

| Using the footswitch is faster when you want to switch from your clean channel over to the distortion/overdrive.

| That's what I thought. I think you can create more cool sound affects with a footswitch.

| Played today with a footswich. That's very cool. I used a Metal Zone MT-2. You can do much more sound affects and distortion with a footswich.
