| Hey gang. So our tax return is going to be bigger than we thought and my wife and I were talking about me getting an electric guitar (since I could play it at church) and a couple pedals.
I have the guitar picked out, and the pedals I want. but what I'm wondering is how to carry, store and power them. I've seen boards and power supplies and thought about just making my own board and using 9V adapters into a surge protector...
What does anyone use? | |

| Pedals? For guitar, I am a very plug and play kind of guy. OK, that's pretty much me for bass, too. If I can't get a tone I like from the amp, then I don't need that amp. There have been a few times that I would add a chorus pedal or wah, but rarely do I need them. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Understood alldat. However, playing at church I'll be plugging directly into the PA board and won't use an amp.
I found 3 pedals I really like, all the same brand. Instead of buying a multi-pedal (which our other guitarist uses and I don't care for) or an extra $100 or more for a pedal board, I was thinking I could use some wood I have laying around, mount them with Velcro and plastic strap the surge bar and be in business.

| When I was young I used the ProCo Rat distortion pedal for awhile and even played around with an Ibanez Tube Screamer for a short period of time. Finally gave up all the pedals and bought a Crate 2x12 combo amp with build in effects and channel selector pedal built-in. I could play clean, with overdrive, had a lead channel and an effects channel...all just in the amplifier. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

My brother did basically that, and it appears to work quite well. He got a DC power supply with multiple outlets to make the wiring even simpler.

I hope you have a dedicated monitor. When I played with the church band I didn't have a dedicated monitor and could only hear what I was playing because my amp was behind me. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | Well thanks all for the input but it's all moot at this point. I found some bills I had filed that haven't been paid after we received the collection notice on them... well over what we had budgeted for guitar.
