Anyone ever heard of this group? Apparently they've been around for several years, and are one of the newest additions to the Tooth & Nail label. Normally I don't pay much attention to Tooth & Nail because so many of their bands sound alike (pop-punk, hard rock, etc.), but this group definitely stands out - female-fronted rock group somewhere along the lines of Fireflight and similar groups:

I heart this band. They used to be known as Breaking the Silence, have both discs. Can't wait for the third one.

I've been a fan for some time while they were still Breaking The Silence. I bought the EP when Tooth & Nail picked them up and am looking forward to the new release.

When the name of this band was "Breaking The Silence" I've seen and listened to this band live. It's true they really break the silence.

Really liked the EP, but I am a big fan of female fronted hard rock/metal. Looking forward to their full length.

This video has been in pretty heavy rotation on TVU, so I've seen it a number of times. Good song. The female vocalist is strong, but doesn't appear to have much range. But she sounds good overall. This band kinda reminds me of a female-fronted version of Echoes the Fall.

I agree she doesn't show a huge range (but that could probably be said of a lot of female fronted modern rock, heck a lot of male fronted modern rock as well). I like the fact that they mix some male vocals in their and cut the "predictablility" of just having one singer. If you listen to some of the songs the bands did when they were "Breaking the Silence" she does some more "screaming". So I expect the more "even keel" vocal performance may have had quite a bit to do with their new producer/label

I remember going to their myspace just before they signed to T&N and heard a couple songs that included screaming. I can't remember exactly what the names of the 2 songs are now, but I feel like when the track listing came out that I saw the two tracks on the list. So hopefully they haven't completely cut the screaming out, but they just haven't released the songs with screaming in it yet
Oh by the way, they put a new track on thier myspace player called "Believe." It sounds really good!!

Sorry about the video in the initial post. Didn't realize embedding had been disabled. Unfortunately every copy of that video I can find on Youtube also has embedding disabled.
I was considering buying their EP when I was at Family Christian a couple weeks ago, but I'd never heard of them before, and this particular Family Christian apparently forgot to install the CD preview thingy (plus they had most CDs lumped together under "Contemporary/Pop" ), so I passed on it for CDs by bands I was actually familiar with.

I bought one yesterday from Amazon, too. However, I bought the downloads so I wouldn't have to take up space in the CD racks for an incomplete album (EP).
I've got to get the new discs by The Letter Black and MercyMe ordered. They come out on the same day. Right now, I am experiencing one of those times where I have more new music than I can really enjoy. What a place to be!!!

That's a pefect description for an EP, an incomplete album. Very good idea to buy downloads from EPs.

You can take a sneak peek and listen to the entire album on AOL Music for free! I've already listened to it and can say this album rocks!! I just don't understand why Jesus Freak Hideout gave this album such a poor review
Hanging On By A Thread
[Edit] Btw, they even sprinkle around a few well placed screams to add emphasis (she has a GREAT scream for a female singer) as well as a couple guitar solos.

I think this calls for another trip to Family Christian... I still have $12 left on a gift card plus a 25% off certificate from filling up my perks card last time I was there

My rule of thumb with JFH is this for the most part: if they give it a poor rating and it's rock, then I'll probably love it. If they think it's amazing, I'll probably hate it. Sure, there are a few exceptions to that rule, but it holds pretty steady most of the time.

I'll have to wait until Musichristian.com ships mine. I have a lot of new releases to tide me over. I really don't mind the wait this time to give me more time to absorb these other CDs.

Walmart doesn't care much of anything anymore when it comes to music. The music sections keep getting smaller and smaller.

My local walmart has a larger selection of Spanish language music than it does Christian music (of any type). I quit shopping there for music over a year ago.

Mine also has a much larger spanish section. The funny thing is that I never see anyone looking at those CDs. They must sell ok or they would not be stocking them.
The Christian music section at Walmart has been handled by an outside vendor who does the shelf stocking and straightening of products only once a week. So, if the vendor does not get the latest releases before the day they hit your store, new items can be delayed by days or even weeks. If you have a Lifeway or Family Christian store nearby, I would recommend them instead of Walmart. However, unless it is something being heavily marketed to CCM radio, even those chains are not stocking as much as they used to. That's why I started buying most everything at Amazon or Musichristian. It all just depends on who has the lowest price.

Walmart's music anymore just plain blows. The last physical CD that I bought from them was U2's No Line on the Horizon. They're more interested in pimping goofy crap like Justin Bieber, Miranda Cosgrove, Miley Cyrus, and other no-talent teenyboppers than they are in promoting GOOD music. If there weren't a waiting list on guns, I'd drop by the sporting goods section, purchase a piece, and shoot myself in the face.

We do have Family Christian Stores (a few anyway), but CCM isn't even big in our area (one of the most unchurched regions in the U.S.). So if it isn't very mainstream CCM they don't tend to carry it. However, Tooth and Nail is supposedly headquartered here in western Washington. So the FCS nearest me allways seems to have their artists in stock.

Most of the FCS facilities around here shut down. I only know of one, and it is over an hour from here.
