Right on. A lot of musical enjoyment isn't always cuz it's your fav style, but rather a memory, or experience. Music is powerful. It's weird, I don't cry for nothin'... it's just me. But certain songs can choke me up and bring a tear to my eyes. (ie "More" by Mylon Lefevre)

Back when I was going through my "southern gospel" stage of life, I had several tapes by the Crabb Family. I still have a couple of soundtracks that I've used in church of their songs. I still love the song "Please Forgive Me".
If I were going to devote much time to the genre, then the Crabb Family, the Martins, and the Gaither Vocal Band are about as smooth as you can get.

Sorry I haven't read this before. I was sick this week.
I don't use musicstyles. To divide favorites in. My ears tell me. How favorite music sounds.
Disciple, Mission Of One, DecembeRadio, Harmony.
Third Day, Lincoln Brewster, Casting Crowns, Jeff Deyo.
Rose, Mad At The World, Crystavox, Siloam.
Follower Of Jesus will you tell us about your favorite music.?

I expected to see even more progressive stuff on your list. The Impellitteri isn't much of a surprise since one of your common review comments about many bands is "I wish the guitarist would have cut loose with more solos".

Well, Veni Domine, Theocracy, Destra and Kerry Livgren all have their progressive moments. Perhaps I should have mentioned Livgren's group Proto-Kaw (which is way over the top progressive). Or even Neal Morse.
As for the guitar solo part, good observation - and I hope I am not becoming predictable in this area - but I cannot help but agree with Tall Tyrion in the Guitar Solos thread that solo breaks are an integral part of song composition. IMHO. Again, see the Guitar Solos thread.

Understandable. It's a bit of a recent obsession/interest. I haven't been into the hard rock stuff for very long. most of the time that I've been on this board it's been CCM that I've been into but in the past year or so I've latched on to a lot of stuff like Souljourners....maybe I'm bored of CCM for now? lol

Predictable or not, I don't see any reason for you to change. They are your reviews, your opinions. (and I don't think they are all that predictable, I have just read a lot of them).

That's cool. I think you made mention of this because the last two reviews I wrote point out either a lack of guitar solos (Scandinavian Metal Praise) or there could be more guitar solos (new HB). But both are very good albums that I felt could be better with more lead guitar- IMHO.
