| From some members of CHM I know what their favorite bands are. From a lot of other members I've no idea to what music they listen and what their favorite stuff is.
Thought it's a nice idea one starts to ask an other CHM member to his/her favorite music or favorite music style. That give us an impression to what music our fellow members are listening.
I will ask Guilty/Forgiven what his favorite music or music styles are. Guilty/forgiven can ask the same question to an other CHM member.
On this way we get a good impression what's everyone listening too. Feel free to post your favorite music and/or music styles.

| Yeah, Vonnie, great idea...
What can I say, I'm a Rocker, Classic Rock, Classic heavy metal (hair metal, speed and thrash), and yes, some CCM up to and including the brilliant Michael Card. Let's see: Crossection has got to be my all-time favorite band musically and lyrically (I've always loved the heart of their stuff and always wished they'd put out more albums). CrystavoX is a close second, with the likes of Novella, 2020 Blind, Deliverance, . I've worn out cassettes of their stuff and played them more than any other albums. They just speak to me spiritually and musically.
Obviously, as all my old-time-family here would remember, I've had a love affair with ApologetiX ever since I discovered Biblical Graffiti back in 2001. I grew up on Weird Al Yankovich and loved his cleverness and talent, but when I found out a Christian band was doing the same thing (and was growing in talent with each album), I freaked ! Seen 'em in concert 5 times and even tried to book them where I live a couple years ago (that turned out to be a bad taste in my mouth - long story). I love the Metallica sound, thus I play a lot of Eternal Decision I love the Slayer sound, thus a lot of Living Sacrifices first release and Believer I love the old Minor Threat sound, thus a lot of the blamed's "21" and Left Out I love Roots Reggae and play a lot of Ben Okafor, Christafari and Temple Yard
You could say I'm very multi-faceted when it comes to music. Every time I think of a band to list, I think of 5 more at the same time, so.... what's already listed above will have to suffice as what I would put at the top of my list. OH- PS, specific songs I totally love, without really caring much for the band themselves - ie the song "Goodbye" by Plankeye ALWAYS gives me chills and strong emotions as does "Everything" by Lifehouse, oh and Rez band's "The reach of love" can always bring me to tears !
How about you TopShot?
Michael, what's your favorite that you listen to most, and can you narrow down a style

| I'm a fan of power/classic/heavy metal, but also really enjoy hard rock, rock, 70's rock, industrial, gothic, celtic, country etc.
I like Guns N Roses style, so that's Bride I like Metallica, so that's Eternal Decision I like European Metal, so that's Seventh Avenue I like country/southern gospel, so that's The Gaithers etc. I like Celtic, so that's Holy Blood and Iona! I like gothic, so that's Saviour Machine
Four words.....
Seventh Avenue Theocracy Bride _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness

| Ok so I have listened to hard rock and metal music since I was in the 6th grade (which was like 30 years ago). Even though I like the heavy stuff, it still has to have melody, and something about it that is catchy (usually called a hook), so I have never been much of a fan of the really heavy stuff (thrash, death metal, etc.).
I really like bands with fantastic singers and rocking guitars. I also dig a lot of female fronted metal and hard rock (again mostly because of the melodic/angelic voices). Also love blues based hard rock, and even some good old doom. Here is my top three picks for each category
Melodic metal/hard rock: Barren Cross, Rob Rock, & Saint
Female fronted: Fighter, HB, Ransom
Blues based hard rock/metal: Red Sea, Die Happy (2nd album), Rez
Doomy stuff: Rose, F.O.G., Place of Skulls _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I started to have more fun out of you guys and return to the four word sentences. I almost responded with: I have no favorites. But, maybe it won't be such a bad thing after all. I can't say that I have as varied of tastes as some of you. Some were able to break their favorites into a much more detailed list by genre. I don't think I own that many genres! For me, life is simpler. I really only listen to 3-4 styles that I would really list as "favorites". Here goes! Hard rock/Metal 1. Stryper 2. Whitecross 3. Mad At The World 4. Rose Modern rock 1. Disciple 2. Seventh Day Slumber 3. Kutless 4. Decemberadio 5. Either Decyfer Down or Since October. Their follow up CDs could be what determine who pulls ahead. CCM Rock/Pop 1. Third Day 2. Casting Crowns 3. MercyMe 4. Sanctus Real Worship 1. Jeff Deyo 2. Lincoln Brewster 3. Starfield 4. Worth Dying For OK, let's see drumdude step in and give us a list! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |
