| Since I read posts that the modern rock music has all the same sound I thought it's interesting to start a poll about modern music. Do you think that all the modern rock music has the same sound? Or are there really modern rock bands who sound different than other modern rock music bands? Do you think modern rock music has influence on the bands who play it too like the hair metal had on the hair metal bands? The way the bands dressed for shows, their hair style? I think of Stryper when they started to play. Are there typical "modern rock music influences" like riffs, or intro's you only hear in the modern rock music? What's the difference between the old classic hard rock and the new modern rock music? I mean musicial? What are your favorite modern rock music bands? When you are not a fan of modern rock music you better can't read this poll. Hey that's a good advice. | |

| A lot sound pretty similar, but some have a unique or different sound. A lot of people probably think the same thing about our music. | |

Oh I'm sure. To me, every modern rock vocalist (with a few exceptions) sounds like a poor imitation of Eddie Vedder. But then again, how many metal vocalists are just imitation Dio or Halford to some degree or another? Yes I can tell the difference, but I'm sure to someone who is not a fan, it all sounds the same. |

| I think that certain bands doing similar styles do sound similar to a certain extent. Yes, the new Disciple, Pillar, Decyfer Down, Kutless, or Since October have a lot of musical similarities. There are vocal differences, though. But, when you add in other styles that also get lumped into the modern rock title like Stellar Kart, Barlow Girl, The Send, The Showdown, Spoken, etc., you start seeing that there is a lot more variety than one might realize. Either way, you have to be a fan to really get it. Just like with people who aren't metal fans, a lot of modern metal bands sound similar, too. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Much of it sounds kind of samey to me as well. But for some reason some of it really stands out and I really dig it. One of those stand out bands would be Hammertown.
Odd but I really like Pillar since they dropped the rap vocals, and I know many people say that Disciple & Decyfer Down sound quite a bit like Pillar, but I just can't seem to "get into" those other bands. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I actually think that Disciple's sound is different than Pillars. I think Disciple's got that more raw hard rock sound with a little more aggression. Pillar for me is more along the lines of more modern rock but yet "for love of the game" sounds a little to much like "scars remain"
I think Decyfer Down will kind of go the route of say a Skillet on thier next album but I to would classify them as hard rock. | |

| I think a lot of people call it that, but nu-metal had a lot more rap style vocals.
