So what do y'all make of the sometimes significant changes made to several of the songs on Heavy Laden versus the originals?

And totally changing a couple?

Edit: I decided to ask Bill and here's his reply.
Quote :
I made the lyric change as I re recorded the trax back in Jan of this
year. I felt that some of the songs didn't say much. A few years ago I
decided that I wouldn't put out music that didn't say much.
I guess over and out was more of a style decision, it was just the
chorus that changed. He made me was more of a content decision. There
were a lot of small changes throughout the whole project as well...

I have noticed some of the changes (especially to Over & Out). One of the tunes sound almost completely different.

The lyrical changes didn't really bother me all that much. But musically it kinda sounds like he slowed some of the songs down (or something).

That was the first thing that I noticed when I played the reissues was the change in lyrics and musical parts. Sure, there are people that have never heard Rev Seven, and fixing those songs would be good for those fans. Unfortunately, I had cassettes of this stuff years ago, and I was a lot more familiar with the original versions. The songs now just are a little flat sounding as Bill lost a lot of the sweep picking on the rhythm guitars that was originally there. The change in lyrics was also strange for me. Imagaine my shock in the change of lyrics:

New: "Over and out, there ain't no doubt"

Old: "Satan, God has you in hand"

Which do you think I prefer?

I thought that change was odd, too, especially after he said he wanted the songs to say more. Question
