We have one we use every year. It is called Pistachio Salad.
Most recipes I’ve seen have only 4 ingredients…we use 6. Most of them use nuts but we don’t as my dad can’t have nuts due to his lack of teeth and the plate in his mouth.
Our ingredients are pistachio pudding mix(instant), cool whip, cottage cheese, can of crushed pineapple, can of fruit cocktail & miniature marshmallows.

I'm not sure we make anything that is unique or unusual. Mostly just the same normal stuff; Turkey, stuffiing, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner rolls, that marshmallow yam dish, the same green bean casserole everyone makes. rolls, deviled eggs, canned jellied cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and whipped cream.
My wife also makes a loaf if cranberry bread, and a home-made apple pie. Oh, and I make the stuffing/dressing in a crockpot instead of in a dish in the oven or (yuck) inside the bird (super-gross).

My mother makes that for most holiday meals, but does not use cottage cheese or fruit cocktail. She does use everything else on your list (including the marshmallows) plus some kind of nuts (either pistachios or walnuts).

My wife's side always has potato salad. For me, that's a summer dish.
I would totally be down with that. I love me some quality potato salad no matter the season.

For many years now, my holiday feasting has come from Cracker Barrel with turkey, dressing, green beans, sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish, and a slice of pumpkin pie.
Thankfully, we don't have to eat leftovers or clean up. We alternate which side of the family we celebrate with each year, and with both being so small, it is easier to get a table.
It was weird having no retail stores open, though. I am thankful that they were, but most of them were working anyway getting Black Friday sales prepped and ready to go.

You haven't had stuffed bird done right. My wife and my mom's stuffing from the bird are absolutely dee-li-she-US.

Always gummy and usually over-wet when done inside the bird IMO (so you might be right). Also run a serious risk of having to over-cook the bird just to make sure no bloody juices are left in the stuffing.

Lefse usually gets made only for the holidays. Also have to break out the jellied cranberry sauce. On NYE I drink ginger ale. I can't think of any other special holiday foods though.

I had to look up Lefse as I'd never heard of it. Surprising considering I lived in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle for over a year, and that place was littered with Scandinavians (heard more Sven and Ollie jokes that any young lad should have to endure). I am almost certain I have never eaten lefse before. Very interesting looking though, and I'm sure I would like it. How do you eat yours? Hot, cold, anything added to it?
