So I am still working on redoing the men's room at church.  I wanted to show you the before and after pics of that ugly spot under the light switch.

Sadly, when Input on the cover, I noticed that the hole is too big.  Whoever did this before let the old paint hold on the cover so that the hole was covered but the switch is not in the center as it should be.  Mine ended up looking like this for now:



I have a couple of really good ideas to fill in the gap, spackle, and paint that, too.  I can let he spackle harden while I paint the trim in the men's room.

Yes, it means "http secure". My browser always warned me when I logged in that the connection wasn't secure. Ok, so I'm not terribly worried about private info on this site, but still.

I still need to pull off the tape from around the door frame, but here is how my light switch turned out.

Very nice, except for that odd blue line right next to it.   (yes I know that's just painter's tape)

Here is what my finished men's room looks like.  I have pictures for the walls of antique trucks, and the handles on the sink cabinet doors are gear shift knobs.

I have started painting our ladies room s well.  I have all the trim done and the stall walls.

That looks so nice now.

The men's bathroom could be better if I could change out that linoleum.  It is old and tired.

The ladies room will look much different.  The whole room, including the stall walls, was that same bland yellow-ish beige.  The stalls will be the gray you see in the pictures now.  The walls themselves will be a pink shade.  I think the ladies will appreciate it.  Again, the room needs the flooring changed out to really make it look better.

In both rooms, I would love to take that up and put down some hardwood laminate.  If I knew how to remove the old flooring, doing the new would not be difficult.  They have stuff now that is peel and stick that you can cut with a box knife.

Physical labor was so much easier at 20, 30, and 40. After two weeks of painting, I hurt all over.

It's hard to stay focused with online school.

The old paint was just dull and dreary.  The drywall patches were just pitiful.  It has bothered me the whole time I have been pastor there but just never felt I had the time.  So, when COVID-19 hit, I decided it was time to do something.

I had a vision for this room.  I wanted to remove the feminine flowers and vases and turn this into a room that men would appreciate.  Thus, I chose the old truck motif.  All the artwork and even the gear shift knobs are from Hobby Lobby, by the way.  I also wanted it to be something that would appeal to some who think that every wall needs a Jesus picture or Bible verse.  I just didn't want this to keep looking like no one cared about the restrooms.  I wanted more than functional--I wanted vibrant, manly, and welcoming.  I feel like I achieved it all.

Absolutely.  I built my wife's new gas fire pit/table thingy on Saturday (with help from my son).  It was the hottest day of the year (so far) at 89 degrees.  Worked on the thing for about 5 hours and nearly made myself a heat casualty.  The next day I was totally wiped out (pain exhaustion, etc.)
