Yep, I thought it was Motorhead too, but Meat beat them to it.  HOWEVER... it seems the real blame must fall on Ritchie Blackmore who was having trouble hearing in his monitor and actually asked a sound engineer if he could get everything louder than everything else.

It's true. Whether it's art, film or music, copying your influences is roughly 95% of what exists. How many artists have created something truly unique?

I'd prefer to see it as being inspired by rather than "stealing." Sure, you build on what came before, but that's inspiration, not theft. Ken Tamplin (neat guy that) said, learn to impersonate widely and then add your own uniqueness to find your own sound. Maybe that's what Blackmore actually meant to say but he just expressed the idea in an unfortunate way.

I am sick to death already of hearing about the NFL protests.  Some of us couldn't care less about football anyway.

Oh sure. Blackmore isn't exactly known for his diplomacy. But I agree - let your influence show and add your own flair.

I hear ya. Our Twitter page was inundated with protest stuff. From an international p.o.v., it just doesn't register. NFL whatsit? I had to look it up.   

I rejoined the Paul the Apostle club of celibacy last week. My girlfriend and I both had been feeling, for some time, that things weren't really going anywhere or going well. It's still no fun, but it ended as well as it could've. It'll let us work on ourselves, too.

Patriotism is okay with me. Rabid nationalism is not. Worse still is when people essentially say that any nation is God's chosen nation (Israel is a different matter). His kingdom is not of this world.

Spot on, guys!  Loving your country is great seeing that it is your birthplace.  Thinking that we're better just because we are from whatever country is pretty much what our American version of patriotism amounts to.  Equating the USA with being God's chosen nation is foolishness at worst and conceited at best.  God has blessed many nations.

And, as for the football statement about it being the number one religion in the South, you won't get a disagreement from this southerner.  I don't even like the game, but even random people will try to engage in conversation about it.  When you tell them you don't like football, they jump right into the next thought that you must be a homosexual.  I got mad at a guy who actually said that to me one time.  I told him that he must be the homo because he wanted to watch a bunch of sweaty men slap one another on the buttocks and be on top of one another.  Needless to say, we didn't become friends.

Patriotism is, in my opinion, idolatry. I'm very thankful I live in the states but the kingdom of America has very little effect on the kingdom of God. I'm more frustrated by those who believe that if you're a believer, you must vote a certain way. Those folks are usually frustrated when I tell them I don't vote or participate in politics at all... I'm not even registered, so I also can't serve on jury duty. Which is fine because I'm not sure how comfortable I'd feel passing judicial judgment on someone...

I'm a little surprised, I thought for sure NASCAR would have been #1 in the South.

Here is the Pacific NW "Mother Nature Worship" is the #1 religion.

NASCAR is short for National Association for Stock Car Racing.  Basically racing high performance vehicles on an oval race track.  The fans of NASCAR are quite fanatical about watching grown men (and a few women) drive at high speeds around an enclosed track.  Often times there are horrible crashes resulting in the injury and occasional death of a driver.
