Album Of The Year choices...

Still not even 2/3rds of the way through, but what is everyone's thoughts on possible albums of the year.

At the moment Signum Regis is my favourite, I've been listening to that so many times (and it's only 6 songs long!)  Not really a fan of the last song Vengeance/Liar, but the others are great.  And whilst only 2 or 3 of them are openly Christian, they are all done really well and I'm looking forward to see what the full album is like.

However...

If Theocracy release their album before the end of the year, then I reckon that will top the list.  Also really excited about Stairway and Stryper, and I thought Worldview and Within Silence were excellent.

Scandinavian Metal Praise say their album is almost ready, and I know I'm going to love that.  Also Mission Of One!  Looking forward to that too!

I like Impellitteri pretty good and I am not normally a fan of his. Was listening to it on the way to work this morning, it rocks! Also looking foward to Stryper which will probably be the champ for me.

I need more time to think what my album of the year might be.

Depends on if Showbread releases their disc by the end of the year or not. If so, them. If not, then Micheal Knott's EP that's slated for November.

Right now it is the Worldview album....but that could be displaced by Stryper, WASP, Liberty N Justice or even Theocracy (assuming they release one this year).

Also really looking forward to the Roxx reissue of Recon (assuming it happens this year).

Forgot about WASP!  That should be great too!

I'm actually leaning a bit towards Ancient Prophecy.

It's been a rough year for metal for me. There's been little that grabbed me. Worldview was disappointing to me. I'm really looking forward to Stryper and WASP in early October. I doubt we'll see the new Theocracy in 2015. (Why do they take 5 years between albums?!)

Mine will probably be Stryper.  Millennial Reign could get in there as well.  Overall, I am rather underwhelmed with this year's releases.  I don't know if it is because I am jaded and am not hearing what I really want to hear from bands these days, bored with the same ol' same ol', or just have reached an age where I just don't really care anymore, but nothing is really exciting me this year.

If The Righteous Blues Band gets their album out soon, that could make my list.

I could make a list of disappointments, though!

both of those have been really impressive.... I was surprised I really seemed to enjoy the Worldview stuff because when I heard the advance tracks it just left me bored.... but in context I was really impressed...    Impellitteri just goes without saying... Rob Rock and Chris Impellitteri.... 'nuff said...

This was my thought too, I was optimistic, but the advance tracks didn't have me feeling all that great about them.  But I find the entire album in one listen is really good.

So far my #1 goes to Dalit - Descent.  Runners up are:

Darkening
Signum Regis
Within Silence

I'm greatly looking forward to these:

Agonal
Crimson Moonlight
Miriam
Signum Regis (if this is anything like the EP released this year... it's gonna be GOOD)
Throne Of Awful Splendor (their EP is just fantastic, this could be excellent)
Vials Of Wrath (for me, this has the highest potential of topping Dalit, though it's only an EP)

The Within Silence is very good.

To be honest, I've already become pretty bored with most of what I've bought this year.

I have only purchased 7 albums this year, while I like most of them I found a few to be just ok.  At this rate I won't be able to put together a top 10 list.  Maybe just a top 5 (or top 2).

Wow, I looked at that list on Angelic Warlord - I'm surprised at how many great albums are on their way !
