Favorite song from Petra-Wake Up Call (1993)

No question here. Just Reach Out takes the spot. This song ministered to me so much during some of the worst times of my life, and it will always hold a place in my heart.

Not as familiar with this CD either, but I love Midnight Oil.

I had to Just Reach Out for this one.

I consider this a weaker album, went with Midnight Oil.

Yep, I'm gonna have to say "Just Reach Out!" aswell.  That was an incredible song on so many levels and although it was a ballad it packed a punch.

(not to anyone else, but to me an...) Interesting footnote on this album...

The first christian rock album I heard was "Not Of This World" in about 1987, then in 1993/4 my friends girlfriend had Wake Up Call, and said "They're a lot heavier now".  At the time I was in to Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper and Guns N Roses, so I thought I'd give Wake Up Call a go.  I remember thinking it sounded like good rock, and I ended up buying the album.  I later found out that it wasn't as good as many of their past albums and so I started to buy other Christian albums (Whitecross, Bride etc.) and so it began!  And it was all down to Wake Up Call!!!!

Even though there were a couple songs on this album that I just didn't dig, there were a few that I really liked (Midnight Oil, Sleeping Giant) but hands down my favorite is "Just Reach Out"

LOVE this album! Went with "Midnight Oil", but could have easily gone with 3 or 4 others.

This is the album that led me to start falling out of love with Petra.  I went with Underneath the Blood.

Another of the trilogy of perfect Petra albums to me!  This one was a bit more stripped down, but it's still a strong project.  It's a great rock album and I love every song.  I will have to pick the opening song for a favorite, though.

I was disappointed at the time that it was stripped down so much.... quite a downturn from their prior 'metalized material'...   I hadn't listened to it in quite a long time, but found a cd a local thrift shop a year or two ago and I really enjoy it now....

I was also a bit letdown that they abandoned the huge 80s sound with this record, but after I got over that, I realized just how great a rock album this was. The songs are very similar to the albums that preceded it, but the production was totally different.

Yeah, I listened to it yesterday accidentally after Unseen Power.  I only caught it because there was something that sounded a little different from the tracks ahead of it.  I think it is possible that at the time this album came out my musical tastes were moving toward more hardcore punk and extreme metal.  I will agree that it does sound better than I remember it.

The only song I remember hearing is Sleeping Giant.  By this time in my life I wasn't paying much attention to who was releasing what.
