Favorite song from Petra-Come and Join Us (1977)

After much debate back and forth between Without You and the title track. My vote is going to Come and Join Us as my favorite song here. There's also a couple of decent rockers like Sally and Woman Don't You Know, which also includes a nice drum solo midsong.

Come and Join us but Sally is a great song, kind of a Foghat sound to my ear.

Can't seem to get into any of the older Petra stuff myself (same with their worship stuff).

Went with God Gave Rock And Roll To You, since that's the only one I know. And even then, I only know the version from Petra Means Rock.

Went with Holy Ghost Power, but the other two are up there too.

Went with the title track, "Come and Join Us". Classic 70s rock and roll!

I can't imagine how much fun it must have been to record and play songs like that back in those days. Petra was quite controversial back then, and "God Gave Rock And Roll To You" was a thumb in the eye to the conservatives who said Christians can't play rock and roll.

I know it's a cheesy classic, but I totally love God Gave R&R. To me it's like all the old songs that were written and performed by an artist at a sub-par level, only to be redone the first time by some band who vastly improved on it.
One example of what I'm talking about would be Bruce Springsteen who wrote and performed Blinded By The Light - went nowhere until it was redone by Manfred Mann's Earth Band.

It was a toss up between Come And Join Us and Without You. I actually prefer Greg Hough's vocal style to Bob Hartman's but the title track is a more interesting song
