| After I listened yesterday again & again to the samples available at the Saint website I like Saint more and more. Reading and listening the lyrics and really helped to let this music grow to me.
The lyrics are very good. The music really is vet gaaf. "Everlasting God" is a cool song ... very cool. Chris, you were right that "Crime Scene Earth" has about the same sound as "The Battle."

| CD Baby won't get the CD for a couple of weeks. You can order straight from the band. They do take PayPal. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

Are you sure CD Baby is going to have this album? I know you can buy "In the Battle" at CD Baby, don't think Saint even offered "The Mark" through them. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I did not know that. You should be able to get the CD through Radrockers and a few other distros very soon, though.

| I got the cd about a week ago and have listened to it several times. I am really enjoying it! I have pretty much all of Saints albums and this is one ranks among their best stuff IMO. | |

| The music sounds great, but I am having trouble with the vocals. Josh went with a gruffer style this time around, and it makes a lot of the lyrics hard to understand. Without a lyric sheet, some of the songs (to me) just could not be understood. I think that Josh would do better to sing more like on the Judas Priest cover "Invader". Not a bad disc, but it isn't my favorite by any means.

| Yea, I thought that the vocals seemed to be mixed to low or something. Usually that would bother me but I have been able to ovelook that on this disc for some reason. | |

| After driving my family out of the house since Saint is in my CD player I have to say: I love the music, this sounds great. The vocals have the sound of a "diet cookie monster music." Yep I am not surprised to hear in the next Saint some "serious or heavy cookie monster" vocals.
Now I wonder are there more bands who sounds cool, but changed their music or vacals after some CDs?

| The vocals are why I'm skipping a Saint record for the first time. I listened to some samples online. I liked the music, but I HATE the vocal style on this one. If Josh would just sing, it would be great. But he doesn't and I don't like what he's doing nowadays. | |

| I think Josh is playing with music styles. Or "Crime Scene Earth" a practice for the band for more "cookie monster vocals" | |

| From a posting over at the CMR apparently Josh only did the vocals for three songs. It's kind of starnge that the lead singer only sang on three songs. | |

| Yes, I've just read that. Seems like Rich did the vocals on the other 6. I'm really enjoying the stuff though, so even though Josh isn't the singer they still are really rockin' songs.
Lost is a great song!

| I must be the only person who isn't a Saint fan. That's rather surprising since I was a fan of Priest, their closest secular comparison. For having made, what... 7 records now over 20 years and having their own recording studio, I'd expect better from such a band. Vocals aside, I find the production just so-so. I assume they must have been going for a raw sound. I will say I'm thankful there are more songs I'll play from this than The Mark on my show. In The Battle is still their best for me. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| It does appear that Josh Kramer only sang on three songs this time around. Of course, they are the three BEST songs: - Quote :

| I read in a post by Richard Lynch at CMR that Saint decided to move in a heavier direction; hence, Josh singing on only three songs. Doesn't make sense; I always felt Josh's vocal style would be perfectly suited for a "heavier musical direction".
Been a Saint fan since I saw them open for Stryper in the Portland, Oregon area back in 1985 (still own the vinyl copy of WOTS I purchased while at the show).
Here is how I would rank Saint's "comeback catalog":
The Mark - 90% In The Battle - 85% Crime Scene Earth - 80%

| I don't think that they needed to switch singers to get a heavier sound, either. Besides, the songs aren't really heavier--they just have gruffer vocals. I like how Yvonne put it--Diet Cookie Monster vocals!

| Well I finally managed to get my grubby little hands on this album. I must say that I am very happy, and somewhat disappointed at the same time. Musically this album is fantastic. The problem I have is with the production/mix, mostly with regards to a bulk of the vocals. - alldatndensum wrote:

Josh sang on Half a times Measure, Crime Scene Earth and Invader Rich Gonna have to slightly disagree with this. At first listen I think “Half a Times Measure” is probably one of my least favorite songs (mostly because of the confusing vocal arrangement on the chorus). I would have to agree that both “Invader”, and “Crime Scene Earth” are fantastic tunes, by my early pick for favorite would have to go to the mid-paced anthemic “Everlasting God”. It just grabs me for some reason. Now as to the controversy regarding Richard singing lead on 6 out of the 9 songs on this album (effectively relegating Josh to guest vocalist status). I’m glad I knew this little bit of information before I actually listened to album. But I don’t think the news is a horrible as some people are making it. I think Rich sounds really cool on most of the tracks for which he sings. The vocal style he is using is not a radical departure from the style Josh usually uses, and I think the songs still sound like Saint. The only real problem I have with the album is how the vocals are recorded or mixed in the album, they seem buried and kind of muddy, kind of hard to sing along when I can’t even tell what they are saying. _________________ "I used to be indecisive..........
