I am not tweaking the version of my AI inspired song. I pitched it to my band and the main guitarist shot it down. They didn't like it and said it really wasn't "us". What the heck does that even mean? As a band, we are constantly morphing each other's material into something that suits us all.
So, today I am redoing it from scratch. I am slowing it back down. I am using a copy of Z Top's guitar sound for my rhythm guitars. For bass, I just plugged the instrument into the interface and went for it. I will lay vocals tomorrow hopefully and maybe do my leads on Sunday afternoon. I gave the song more of the ZZ Top feel. I should be able to do a decent solo if I play more like Billy Gibbons.

So there is a new AI band called Cubicle Riot. Straight out of 1984. All generated by AI. Check it out but be warned the lyrics are juvenile!

My one attempt so far was nowhere near this high quality. With this, you can say that the music industry is dead. If you can fake a full band sounds, there is no point in signing new bands. Musicians will be relegated to playing cover tunes in bars and fairs in the near future.

Oh yeah, dumb lyrics. But I never would have guessed that wasn't created by real human musicians.

After stopping when I got to the end of my 9th album, I found some more lyrics, and I've now done another 2 albums.
Ha!
I'm back on suno now.

How do you get this to actually render something useful as a whole? Do I need a paid version, or do I need to prompt the daylights out of it? I tried it once for fun but have been hesitant to return.
The song I built from some of the samples is turning out decent in Reaper, though.

With Suno, it now lets you create a song in one hit up to 4 minutes. I send the same lyrics through a number of times, then pick the best version. If the ending sounds a bit strange, I put it through Audacity and either cut the song at a good point, or fade out.
Suno put out a new version a while back (3.5) which seems to be a bit better than version 3. Version 3 had a limit of 2 minutes, which meant you had to extend it, and sometimes it just didn't work very well at all. With 3.5 it at least gives you pretty much a whole song in one hit.
I don't think 3.5 is good enough to make a top quality song, but you can tell that in the end A.I. will start making songs that are hard to tell if it's fake or not.

I will check out the changes and see what happens.
With this, one immediate change I could see in the industry is advertisers using this to write jingles for radio ads. Why pay for studio musicians to record the jingle and have to pay someone to come up with your campaign? You could have a staff writer come up with the lyrics and run it through this. Boom! Instant ad campaign!

Ok, I tried one just for giggles and think it did okay. To me, everything still sounds weird, but there are pieces that I could see using in a real song. Sadly, it could not distinguish the difference between a second verse and a chorus, so it used by second verse as the chorus. So, again, I may use it for some inspiration for writing the actual music since I already wrote the lyrics, but this isn't something I would actually release.

This one sounds like there's auto-tune on it. One thing I don't like about AI created songs is the lyrical phrasing. It ends lines in a manner that feels like there should be more after it.
The verse melody sounds like a slowed down version of Robert Palmer's Bad Case of Loving You.

Cool musical idea for "Morning Light"! The music doesn't sound bad at all, but the vocal phrasing is annoying and the underlying constant "auto-tune" thing is horrible. The version with Alldat singing is going to be way better! Certainly sounds like a Big Chris & Da' Bare Bones Band song to me.

Goog vibe going with Morning Light, that's for sure.

After deciding to stop, I've carried on doing more. Now on album 16. It's kind of a weird experience, as I've had all these songs stuck in my head for so long, that to hear them as living breathing songs is just crazy. I keep writing new ones at the moment too.
