Who’s heard this?
I think it’s a solid album. I wish there were a few more rocking originals, though. I did enjoy the cover of I Still Believe, although it’s hard to beat The Call’s original or Russ Taff’s cover.
I could do without the Reckless Love and God of Wonders covers, since those are so well known. I’d love to hear these guys rock out some classic hymns.
The medley of Petra and WhiteHeart songs is, of course, fantastic.
The originals this is time around might be slightly stronger than on the debut.
John sounds amazing as always.
And just for fun:

I am waiting for the CD version even though I know I can get MP3s now.

I always love an original sax fill/solo.

Especially when they’re George Michael solos.

Classic hymns would be cool. These songs could be cooler to redo if John hasn't shown in the past that he wants to keep P&W songs in their original format. Look at Petra Praise 2. Look at Revival. Look at the II Guys From Petra album. While they might have added a slight rock edge, they kept those songs sounding as much like the original songs as they could. Now, when they could have experimented and done something unique with these two songs, they keep them sounding the same. (I checked out clips from Amazon.) What is the one thing all these songs have in common? John Schlitt.
I wish he would take some of these songs he loves and give them a whole new feel like he did with the Hallelujah Chorus he did on his Christmas album. That would be WAY cooler.

Agreed. While I quite like PP2, I never spin Revival or 2 Guys from Petra for this reason.

I broke down and bought the downloads anyway. I must say that this isn't what I wanted for their follow up. There are way too many slow songs, and the medley is over 10 mins. of more draggy songs. The new songs are really good, but this would have worked better as an EP.

The album is perfect as it is. I totally enjoyed the ten-minute medley.

I couldn't stand more than 6 minutes and will remove this track from the album on my Hidizs player. It just drags and drags and drags.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

I had to take the 10+ min. song off my Hidizs. It creates a huge lull in the album. Without that track, the rockers outnumber the slow songs.
