Got some Rod Serling Twilight Zone books for Christmas. Also got a couple of Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King books. I love the Serling and Hitchcock books because they are short stories that were episodes of the tv shows.

Love the Twilight Zone and Night Gallery. Rod was such a genius, whose life was cut way too short.

Just finished Walvoord's commentary on Revelation. Now reading Derek Gilbert's Second Coming of Saturn. Then it's onto Dr. Arnold Fruechtenbaum's Footsteps of Messiah.

This is the 9th and final full length novel of The Expanse series that became a TV show on Scy-Fy and then later on Amazon.

Just finished...
Settlements, Mountains & Madness by Peter Billet (yep.. Fundy).
It was definitely worth the read. You can certainly tell it was not written by the a professional. But it was an entertaining story with pretty well thought out characters (especially since it was written by someone so young). After I read through a few other books in my stack I will tackle the author's second novel.

Congratulations! You deserve a reward! All the fantasy books I have written were never intended to be made public, I just did it because I enjoyed it - sort of a bit like escapism. SMM, was written between 1993 - 2011. Every one of the books has grammar and spelling issues, and other inconsistencies. Makes me wince when I re-read them, thinking "Doh, how did I miss that!"
Initially I printed all 10 books in the series where I work, and they weren't available to be sold, instead they just stood on my shelf at home in a nice neat line. But when I came to the 11th (and final) book I realised it was too big to print at work, so decided to use amazon to get it completed. Then, being slightly OCD, I thought I'd put all 10 books through amazon so they'd all look the same style! That meant a heck load of work, checking and editing, just so it looked good on the shelf! . Yes, I'm an idiot!
Books 9 and 11 are the ones I enjoyed writing the most, and hopefully had less errors in them. (Although book 1 - 3 were checked by someone else, so maybe there's not a lot of hope there!)

Actually the grammar errors where not glaring (in most instances) and I would expect it from any independent author that did not have a professional editor review their work. My wife read several of the Harry Potter books to me many years ago, and I found just as many grammar issues with her earlier works as well (so you are in good company). It is next to impossible to spot your own grammar mistakes because you tend to read what you think you thought you wrote instead of what you actually wrote (I do this all the time, so I have my wife check important stuff for me... heck my original post here that you quoted has a grammar mistake too! LOL). My only other constructive criticism is something else you wouldn't have really been able to do on your own. I think a good editor would have had you trim around 30 pages or so from the early to mid portion of your novel (sometime before the Beast Patrol was introduced). I loved your sketches of the native plants and animals at the ends of the chapters. Your short quotes from Mr. D's Adventure Book before the chapters was a great touch as well. The Tolkien inspired map in the back as well as the lists of characters, names, places and other interesting tidbits was also a fantastic touch (and a useful writing tool as well I am sure). You did an amazing job on your first outing (especially at such a young age). You are a gifted story teller, and I look forward to reading the rest of your stories.

I did a reference book to go along with the first 10 books, but it got too complicated and would need way too much editing to publish. All the pictures and maps were done by a friend.
