Wow tough one. Off the Civil War album I would probably have picked Six Feet Down (but I really dig Quicksand too). But the song that immediately comes to mind when I think of Lordchain is "Millstone" off the excellent "Finding Balance" album. The chorus just hits me in the gut, and I love the groove.

Two of their songs popped instantly into my head when reading this. Both of mine come from their "Soulever" album.
They are:
Jesus, We Worship You
Walking Wasteland
Of course, this might change when their new worship EP comes out. I might have to switch favorites after hearing this new project with their awesome guest bass player!!!!

I have a Step Cousin album, but nothing from Lordchain. What's the best album to start with?

Step Cousin. Great band. For an overview, I really enjoyed their 30 years album. For CDs https://roxxrecords.com/collections/christian-metal-distro/products/lordchain-thirty-years-2020-cd-30-years For download: https://lordchain.bandcamp.com/album/thirty-years
I really like Soulever. Check it out on bandcamp: https://lordchain.bandcamp.com/album/soulever

Of course it will change. The next one will knock it out of the park, Chris. Great bass player and all
"Walking Wasteland." THAT's a great song.

Great song. I always thought it's one of those songs that could use remastering. It cries out to be B-I-G-G-E-Rrrrrrrrr!!!!!! with an emphasis of the guitars and bass. It's a song I want to hear in my guts, not just my ears. Know what I mean?
It's definitely one of my faves for sure.

I would check these three out immediately.
Soulever The Shadow Project (their newest full length) Civil War
You will get hooked on these and then want the rest.

Civil War and The Shadow Project are where to start imo. I love the song, At the End of the Age, has a heavy plodding sound, almost Black Label Society like.

I was told there was a Lordchain thread going on over here. I had to come and check it out. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the 1997 self-titled album. It's so different than what we sound like now, it almost feels set apart from the rest of the discography. The 20th Anniversary Edition has a bonus track that is one of my favorites. It's a demo called Eighty-Eight. One reason I guess, is because I'm not singing it. lol
As far as the newer stuff goes, I like No Excuses. Greg Minier and Mike Philips absolutely shred on it.

Although I like the debut, Kelly, I think the fact that it doesn't sound like the rest of the discography is what makes me not like it as much. I got "Cracked" and "Soulever" first and then got a copy of the debut. I was used to the more groove metal sound and the debut didn't seem to fit. It still doesn't. To be honest, I think you and Jeff are putting out the best music for Lordchain overall now.

I'll admit that the debut Lordchain album is my least favorite. However I really dig the track "Diffuse". One of my favorite Lordchain albums is "What Is, What Was" great compilation album with some very cool "new" tracks.

Thank you AllDat. I appreciate that. It was a different band back then. Cracked was the first Lordchain album we did in our own studio. We learned a lot. Listen to the improvement in production from Cracked to Soulever. We've been building our sound since that album. It's nice to record without an hourly rate (usually $50 an hour back in the 90s). I can pour my heart into the music & not just be 'the drummer' like I was on the debut.

Great album!
I am impatiently waiting for news on the new worship E.P. I know they ran into problems with mixing and were trying to enlist outside help. There might be a new favorite on there for me.

Pethead, you got Civil War on CD? THANK YOU! That one is getting tough to come by.
I also want to give an update on the new EP. We have 2 factors holding us up. We are having incredibly annoying tech issues in the studio. Jeff calls it a 'studio gremlin'. It's been going on for a while now and we are still working on finding a solution. A technician from one of the biggest studios in Memphis is now helping us out.
The second thing is I have been having health issues that has kept me out of the studio. My first procedure was on Dec 8th. I got over that, but then had to have another surgery on Dec 30th. The procedure went fine, but I was not told of all the side effects it would give me. I found out today, Jan 4th, it is going to take 6-8 weeks to get over this. I'm going to attempt my radio show this afternoon. I'm hoping to get through it without any problems. I sincerely ask for prayer.
Thank you to everyone for your support and patience. I love you guys.

Thank you for the update Kelly (much appreciated).
Will be praying that the pro tech from Memphis can find a "not so costly" solution to your studio issue. Also praying for your complete (and swift) recovery.

UPDATE!
Total Surrender has an official release date: March 4th on our bandcamp site. Just like the previous 3 praise EPs, it will be a FREE download. Chris did an amazing job on this project. I can't wait for everyone to hear it.
Jeff and I have already started working on a new full length heavy Lordchain album. We don't know if there will be any special guest vocalists appearing on any songs, but I have spoken with Travis from Chaotic Resemblance, Michael Drive and Jenny Stokes. It would also be cool if Greg Minier and Mike Philips could return for another song or two. We'll see how it goes.
Please keep us in your prayers that we can avoid any more technical issues. We want to glorify God in all that we do.

Thank you for the kind words on my contribution to the EP. If I can be of any service on the new full length, let me know. Spring break is coming up, and I am sure I could squeeze a quick trip to Missouri to throw down some low end for ya'll. I have had a blast working with Lordchain on the two projects I have done thus far.
