I liked the movie (The Man Who Invented Christmas). I thought it was done quite well. I have seen versions of "A Christmas Carol" that were less than impressive (there are dozens of film versions of this movie).
My favorite version of "A Christmas Carol" has to be the version with Michael Caine as Scrooge, and Kermit the Frog as Bob Crachit (A Muppet Christmas Carol). It's actually quite serious (with a lot of humor as well). I watch it every Christmas. There is also a version with Patrick Steward as Scrooge (with pretty much an all British cast) from 1999 that I really liked as well.
