Anyone else order this? What are your thoughts of it thus far?

I've listened through once. I like it. Some of it reminds me of the Back Again album. Right now 'Wake Up' is my favorite song from the album. That will probably change the more I listen.

I am loving the increase of guitar solos. I hear pieces of each album here. This feels like a "greatest styles" album.

The influx of keyboards and effects, they seemingly swiped from Red and Demon Hunter. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Skillet was doing those before either of the aforementioned bands were. More likely they were trying to copy Skillet's commercial success.

Problem I always have is missing the sound of the first couple Disciple albums. I know, this is almost a completely different band but those albums were great. Except the rap parts.

Except for Kevin, it is totally a new band. Kevin has allowed all of his members to contribute to the writing, so with each change of personnel, the sound continues to morph.
I never really understood into the "rap" label on Disciple's early albums. True, there were some "spoken word" parts, but they just didn't sound the same as what P.O.D. and Pillar used to do in their early days. To me, those parts were more Kevin kind of barking out the lyrics.
Since their signing, this band has always tried to incorporate whatever was popular at the time to appeal to new fans. However, for those of us who have traveled with them through their musical journey, they still sound like Disciple. I can listen to "My Daddy Can Whip Your Daddy" or even the new "Love Letter Kill Shot" and they still sound like the same band to me. Sure, some of the earlier albums had a bit more grit to them, but that Disciple sound is still intact and still rockin'!

Alright, I'll give you it's not really rap, just not my cup of tea. I do love the song, Panic Room, Andrew really adds to it and there's a nice solo.

On the new record, Dane Allen from Loyals, a pop rock band on the same label as Disciple, handles backing vocals and even co-wrote the title track. Why do I mention this? I knew Dane when he was a kid. I went to church with him, played in the praise band with his mom, and his dad was the pastor of Lebanon First Assembly of God.

That's interesting a new Disciple album. I've to listen first to some samples.

Necropost time...
This one took some time to grow on me. IMO, the weakest songs on the album for me (speaking musically, not lyrically) are Cuff the Criminal and Touch of Pain. Everything else was pretty solid
Oh. And I LOVE Reanimate. That's my top pick, no question.

Is there a bad Disciple album?
