I just hope they aren't building us up for another disappointment.  The Last Jedi just threw so much away and dismissed any buildup of Rey, Snoke, the Knights of Ren, etc.   They tossed out that Jedi had to be trained to be strong.  They forgot that Leia has never trained in the ways of the Jedi, so pulling herself into a ship from space and saving her own life would not have been strong enough to preserve her own life in a  frigid vacuum like space.  The new Empire, or whatever Ren calls it, should have crushed the Resistance in space rather than just have a slow motion chase and continually fire warning shots at them.  A lot of what they did just felt wrong and was quite dumb to be honest.

Abrams has a big job to do if he wants this story to end up being loved.  He copied so much for The Force Awakens that fans felt like they were just stirring this up for the money.  The Last Jedi made it seem that they didn't care about anything canon anymore and were willing to throw it away.  So, for this one, they need to make it where everything they've done was for a reason and that it ties into the greater Skywalker arc, thus the title.  If it doesn't deliver, then the prequels will seem like high art compared to these and will have ruined my desire to see more Star Wars stories developed.  Well, stories like Han Solo and Rogue One that tied into the original trilogy would be cool, but no more added to the overall story.

What planet is that at the end of the trailer? Endor? That's obviously a Death Star.

Endor was a moon--not a planet.  


It could have been the home of the Rebel base in the first Star Wars film as they destroyed one there as well.

I forgot! Been a long time since I have seen Return Of The Jedi (it is one of my least favorite but it is still good). I need to go back and rewatch that one.

Here’s one to share with the kids...

I think I will have to pass on the Sonic movie.  It looks okay for kids, but I doubt I would watch it unless I was bored and couldn't find anything else on.

Interesting, I love playing Sonic and so do my kids. Might have to check this one out at some point but there are no movie theaters open around here. All of them still closed from the storm.

We were able to go to an advance showing of the new Kendrick Bros. movie last night.  They invited a lot of area pastors and other ministry leaders.  If you aren't familiar with the Kendricks, they used to go under the name Sherwood Pictures as they were connected to Sherwood Baptist Church in Georgia.  They are coming back with their sixth motion picture Overcomer on Aug. 23, 2019.  It feels much like Facing the Giants in the first third of the film.  I think that was more to make it feel familiar.  From that point forward, the film shifts to really focus on two of the main characters in the movie.

I am taking the wifey to see the new Aladdin tonight.  I hope it is good.

It will be a Will Smith vehicle without the humor of Robin Williams. I might see it when it's cheap.

There's a trailer out for a new Terminator movie. It seems alright, but I think most of the world has moved on from the franchise.

Especially when it ended after T2.
