| Hey So every so often I ask around for recommendations for Christian bands that sound similar to secular bands. Here’s the current list - if you know of one, let me know. Thanks!

| I have to sit this one out. I have not even heard of the 1st and 3rd band. While I like a few CCR songs, I wasn't into that kind of music when I got into Christian rock and never sought out anything similar. I am sure if you search out some of the old Jesus music bands, you will probably find something. The closest thing I know of would be the very first two Petra albums or maybe GHF, but I don't think those will be exactly what you are seeking. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I would love to see a band similar to Social Distortion, especially there rock-a-billy punk influenced sound. But alas I haven't heard anything in the Christian music realm like it. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Except for Depeche Mode, I have no idea who the others are.

| Sadly, I doubt you will find anything that really comes close to your last list. Even MATW's darker albums don't really capture that sound. Have you looked into Dead Artist Syndrome? May be along those lines.
As for the top list, maybe like alldat said, the early Petra albums. I'd also check out Agape, but that may be a bit more psychedelic blues than you are looking for.
Have you heard the Altar Billies? It's Mike Stand from Altar Boys' rockabilly band.
Maybe The Crucified for Snapcase? | |
