| Anyone planning on getting the new Retroactive Records reissue of both the Rosanna's Raiders CDs? The disc also contains an early demo album of theirs which only has one song repeated on their studio recordings. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I got one of their albums on cassette a year or so ago, and liked it for the most part. I think they have a very dated sound, that probably doesn't hold up quite as well today. I wish they were either a little heavier (like Ransom or Arsenal), or if not heavier at least had better vocal harmonies (like Rachel Rachel).
Having said that, I am going to order it anyway. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I do like Ro's Raiders but I like Ransom and Arsenal better. Lisa Faxon could sing!!!!! I probably wont buy this initially but if it falls in my lap then so be it.

| Agreed, Lisa Faxom had a great set of pipes. Would be cool to see here reuinte with a few of her old band mates and crank out another album. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I have all three of the Rosanna albums. They're all pretty good, although vocally not my thing. Rosanna's third album (a solo one) was lighter than the first two, but still had some good tracks on it. Fundy _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness

| For those of you who are going to order this, you can get it through Girder Music for only $16.99. You can get 15% off by using the promo code: 15in2008. That's only good until Jan. 15.
I liked their sound. As I said, they were more like Heart or Vixen. They could go heavy, but used the keys to soften their sound. Sure, it's dated, but both discs did come out in the mid 80's. The originals are 20 years old, and nearly that many years out of print.
I never heard Rosanna's solo project. Might be a good listen.
On this reissue, as I stated, has an early Rosanna's Raiders demo album (full length) added to this as bonus material. It was a cassette only release by the band, so that makes it near impossible to find. Only one song "We Are Raiders" appears twice on the disc. The demo songs have been professionally mastered and added to this project. You'll get around 30 songs on 2 CDs.
I think it's worth it. I ordered just a couple of minutes ago. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| After listening to the samples I think I like the tracks from "Clothed in Fire" even better than "Calling Down Fire". I will definately be picking this one up. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I have been working off and on this past week on a review of the new Rosanna's Raiders compilation "Fire From Heaven". Previously, my only exposure to the groups music was its 1987 Pure Metal debut "Calling Down Fire". To say I was not impressed would be an understatement.
As a result of "Fire From Heaven", however, I have had the opportunity to hear the bands second Pure Metal release, "Clothed In Fire", for the first time. My overall impression is that "Clothed In Fire" is one of the more overlooked and underrated metal/hard rock albums of its genre. Great hooks. Great guitar work. Great songs. It I were to write a review of the album on its own I would give it in the 85% to 90% range. More details to come...

| I also think that Rosanna's Raiders were overlooked. They were on a label with a lot of heavier metal bands. But, the Raiders were more in the vein of Heart or Vixen--pop metal/rock. Because of that, they were just not well received.
I personally think that Rosanna had a great set of pipes on her. Had their style been the same as Ransom, Rosanna would be considered to be on a pretty even keel as Lisa Faxon.

| First I needed to know more information about Rosanna"s Raiders. I never have heard from this band and had no idea if this is a new or an old band. Know I know it's an Australian band from Dave and Rosanna Palmer. Listened to the samples at CD-Baby.
To be honest I am not a "female lead vocal" fan. This is one of the bands I really like. The music is very cool. Have to study more on the lyrics. Yep, Rosanna's Raiders has a good sound. I am only not sure if I order this. There are some other CDs I like too. But I am sure I am not the only one with this problem.

| The Loser, and Love The Lord Your God from Rosanna's second album were a great way to close the album. 2 of the best tracks she recorded. Fundy _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... Silence Is Madness

| Got both of their full-length albums on cassette... not something I listen to all the time to be sure, but I wouldn't get rid of it. Quite cheesy, but cool to listen to and bring back some memories! Wouldn't mind replacing my tapes with the CD... maybe I'll look into it. | |

| Has anyone else ordered this? I got mine today from Girder, and there is a MAJOR problem. The disc was shrink-wrapped, but the 2nd disc of the two disc set is missing! Has anyone else had this problem? I have e-mailed Girder about getting a replacement. I just wondered if Retroactive had yet another defective first batch of CDs.

| They had several CDs recently that had coloration problems with the inserts that had to be redone. So, while missing discs hasn't been a problem--they have had their share of issues lately.
I've contacted Girder both by e-mail and by filling out an official "Support Ticket". I hope to get this cleared up quickly.

| By a suggestion from one of the guys at CMR, I also emailed Retroactive about this. Here's their response: - Quote :
- I will joyfully provide you with disc two....it will mail 1st class
either today or Monday...depending on if I can get to the PO today.....don't worry about Girder...he would have to get it from me anyways....sorry about the problem!
