This is my son's first Fathers day, and my first Grandfathers day. Pretty cool 

Father's Day is a difficult day for me.  I miss my dad, but that is only one part of the weirdness/sadness of the day.  Everyone wishes me a happy Father's Day just assuming by my age that I have kids and am married.  It's tough being reminded on Mother's Day and again on Father's Day that we aren't blessed to have children of our own.  Sometimes it isn't so bad, but this year it really seems to sting.  I don't know if it was because we were just in Memphis working with kids in impoverished crime-ridden areas and falling in love with some of them.  Maybe it is just the realization that we aren't getting younger and each year your chances of having kids goes down.  Regardless, it is tough being reminded that I am not on the "Daddy Team".

This may sound like a joke but I'm being serious. Abraham didn't have Isaac until he was almost 90. You may feel too old, but sometimes we don't know God's plan for something like this. I have plenty of advice to offer but as someone who tried to get pregnant for two years, I'll offer to pray as I understand the heartbreak of not having kids when you want one.
