| So I pre-ordered something from Amazon for the first time - Brad Paisley's new album. It was released Friday the 21st.
I chose standard shipping because I didn't care if I got it on release day but it still hasn't shipped. Anyone know how long it takes them to ship a new release? I searched the help section but couldn't find anything... | |

| I have usually had my preordered releases from Amazon either the day of or the day after. There have been instances where the CD is delayed by not arriving at Amazon on time. | I would check to make sure that it was actually released on the 21st, it's not unusual for artist to miss the release date. Like Alldat said mine usually arrive within a day or so of the release. | |

| Amazon seem to have dropped the ball a bit. If there's a release coming out soon then I now nip to the shops to get it. It takes two or three extra days are release date to get it from Amazon unless I pay extra!

| I made the mistake of pre-ordering two cds (at the same time) from amazon that were being released three weeks apart from each other....of course they waited until the last one had been released before sending me both cds together.  Having said that I tend to get stuff from Amazon the day of release (or at least 2 or 3 days later at most). I haven't had the same luck with ordering directly from record companies....some of them can take forever to get out their pre-orders.

| The advantage to preordering from Amazon, though, is when they do the Auto-Rip with the sale as well. Now that I got his newest album, the only thing of his I don't have is the live DVD from last year. I really enjoy his music and reading his autobiography was very eye-opening. And yeah, he can tear it up on a Telecaster. | |
