| I don't know about you guys... but for me... Christian rock/metal was always about 5 or so year behind mainstream... the SOUND of the mainstream metal / rock that I loved from the late 70s/early-mid 80s started showing up in Christian versions in the later 80s---fwd... Whitecross, etc... with a few exceptions--namely Stryper...
Anyway... "back in the day" I was jamming to Jerusalem, Petra (also bit of an exception). Altar Boys, Degarmo & Key... etc. AND-----RICK CUA... Rick's music has all of the "cheese" of the 80s that I loved... and honestly--if you listen to his guitar work--the brother rocked!
So I thought I'd share a Rick Cua/Pastor Brad Playlist I put together... enjoy!

| The first 4 Cua records are good! He went too pop after that and lost me.
This reminds me that I need to complete my personal remasters of his early material. I just need to edit the meta data and add album covers to my own files. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

True about going too pop, but I did recently rebuy them anyway for a few dollars each. They usually have at least one or two rockers on them.

| Love the early Cua albums, but he was the bass player/singer, don't remember who was on the axe... | |

| First heard Cua on a compilation called The Rock Of Gospel. This Raging Fire rocked ! I was a brand new believer in '89 and when I got that compilation, I remember that song really standing out as a bit of a Bowie-esque radio rocker. It would be a few years later before I scored his albums. Def a classic (cheese and all) ! | |

| I didn't find out about him until the You're My Road album. Still haven't heard his first two(I need to do something about that). After Wear Your Colors it was kinda hit or miss. I still enjoy his stuff including Within Reach and Can't Stand Too Tall.
I was fortunate to be able to see him in concert on the Wear Your Colors tour. a few hours before the show started I was outside with some of the guys. At one point one of them says " Hey Rick" ,I looked at him and was like " Yeah, what?". Then he points behind me and says, "Not you...him." I turn around and see Rick Cua getting something out of a vehicle and I say" Oh,OK." RC just stood there smiling and grinning about the whole thing.
