Remember This Album?: Devil's Dice

Ok, who here remembers the Nashville band Judah First?  I was just listening to their 2005 album "Devil's Dice" and thinking they reminded me a little of Lord Chain.  If you've never heard of them you can check out the title track to the album in the video below.

I believe the band actually had two albums (the first being "The Vision Road" from 2003..if I'm not mistaken).  Not sure because I only have "Devil's Dice".  Angelic Warlord gave the album quite a bit of praise in their (his) review (also see link below).  If you like your metal with a bit of groove this just might be up your alley.

Me too, I was a little surprised to find out it had been more than 10 years since this release...especially since I remember buying it new, and it didn't seem like that long ago.

I have both Vision Road and Devil's Dice.  Great band! I remember talking to the singer about being with Mission Of One and they had disbanded.  I don't remember the particulars.

It's a long time ago I've listened to their CD.

That would explain why we haven't seen a follow-up album...bummer.

Yes, I actually bought this one by accident, but was pleasantly surprised! Btw, the riff in this song is a familiar one, anyone else catch it?

It's definitely got a trashy vibe but it doesn't immediately reminded me of another song (but I can be a little musically dense when it comes to that sort of thing).

Yea I can hear a bit of that, but this is the one I initially thought of...

Oh yeah, I can certainly hear that now that you point it out.

I called the band out on it back in the day on myspace, they of course could hear no similarities...

I've got that album at home somewhere. I always wondered what happened to them and why they never went further. Great stuff.

I certainly would have liked to have heard another album by the band, but life gets in the way sometimes.
