I was listening to a playlist of Deliverance songs the other day, when the DA cover "Sanctuary" came up.
Beautiful song.
Daniel Amos's version is cool too, and has an entire different vibe to it.
I think I might like Deliverance's post-What A Joke output, come to think of it. I only have River Disturbance, which is pretty good, but I'd like to hear more.

This is one of those bands that I could never get into (and I tried several times). I've heard all of their stuff except for the last two or three albums and none of it clicks with me. I am certainly in the minority though as most people seem to love at least a few Deliverance albums.

I like the first three albums. The s/t, I think, is my favourite of those, partly because of the crisp sound quality and partly because of the heaviness. Weapons is a tad more melodic, and the sound wasn't as huge (and btw, I think Rescue should've been the final track on the original pressing). What A Joke wasn't overly well produced, and the joke songs spoil the flow, but the aggression in the lyrics and the music is astounding.
I also have River Disturbance. Not a bad album in the least, but I have to be in the mood for something melancholic. The title track is beautiful, like Sanctuary. Finally, I like the flirting with different time signatures on As Above - So Below, but somehow the album fails to keep my attention. I think I need to listen to it again soon.

I like through Stay, some of River Disturbance and As Above. Sanctuary is a great cover.

I have most of their discs and love most of it. There are still a few I haven't got.

Wow, I thought I was the only person at this board who didn't care for the band.

Count me as one of the crazies! OK, I love Deliverance, but I can't stand the first three albums. I didn't like them until "Stay Of Execution" and have bought everything else since.

According to the hardcore D fans, I am crazy for not liking the first three albums.

I'm having problems to be a fan of Deliverance too. Some songs I like, but others not really. Sometimes you have to listen again to bands you not really like. I've had I like them more.
