| Tonight, I finally broke down and watched "Princess Bride". Everyone thinks this is one of the funniest movies ever. I don't get it. It wasn't funny to me at all. I've got to say that it was one of the worst films I have ever endured in my life. I'd rather have Hillary Clinton as President for 8 years than to have to watch this again. It was just bad. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I put it on the same list as Hokus Pokus and Oh, Brother Where Are Thou? as some of the worst films ever made. People think they are funny but I found nothing even interesting in them. I did find the priest with the speech impediment to be humorous, but even that scene just felt forced. The whole movie did to me.

You don't like O Brother either? So many quotable, funny lines... "Who elected you leader of this outfit?" "Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity? Two weeks from everywhere." "Oh George, not the livestock..." "I like the smell of my hair treatment; the pleasing odor is half the point." "Wouldn't we look like a bunch of Johnny-come-latelies, bragging on our own midget, doesn't matter how stumpy. "

| I didn't like O, Brother Where Are Thou? either.
The Princess Bride is all in the dialogue:
Man in Black: Are you just fiddling with me or what? Fezzik: I want you to feel you are doing well. I hate for people to die embarrassed.

| My wife even asked me to stop the movie before we ever hit the halfway point. I made myself finish it just because everyone swore it was so funny. I wished I had listened to her.

| I agree with staybrite. I don't care for a certain franchise of films involving Wars a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... | |

| We love it. Watch it at least once a year. It's not meant to be a really great movie, rather, it's considered a cult classic. Cult classics are only liked by smaller groups of people. Movies like UHF, Strange Brew, Rocky Horror, and many others, have cult status as they were all box office flops that were picked up later by fringe groups.... and me. Princess Bride was genius imho | |

| This is the first time I've heard somebody say they didn't like The Princess Bride.
Buttercup: What about the ROUS's?
Wesley: Rodents of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist.

| I think somebody permanently broke their funny bone while on a Geocache hike and is not longer able to enjoy the over the top dry-wit style humor that permeates the film. Next your going to tell us you don't like "This is Spinal Tap" or anything from the Monty Python catalog. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

Perhaps that is it. I do enjoy Spinal tap and Monty Python, but I think a lot of that has to do with seeing those in my younger, less mature days. Maybe if I had seen Princess Bride when it came out, my perception of it would have been different. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/
