Happy mothers day to the few moms we have here at CHM!  

And to all of us guys don't forget to call your moms today and tell them thanks for letting you live.

I miss my mom on days like today.  With everyone else out there using social media to make a saint out of their mothers, it is difficult not to get down in the dumps with me not having my mama with us anymore.  I lost her at 25.  It will just be a few more years until I have lived as many years without her as I did with her.  For those of us who have lost our moms, this day actually becomes a sore spot because it accentuates your loss.

It is also a day where those of us who, for whatever God's reason, have been unable to have children of our own.  I even hate that empty platitude where people tell my wife that we have children through all the kids we've worked with over the years.  It isn't the same, people.  Please stop trying to make us feel better when that only makes us feel worse.  Again, it only accentuates the fact that we've never been able to have kids and did not feel we financially could afford to adopt.

My wife lost her father when we she was 28, fathers days are very hard for her.  It's never easy to lose a parent, especially when you are so young.  So fathers days are pretty somber around our house.

As for not having children I can imagine that is very difficult for your both.  We tried the adoption route ourselves and it is incredibly difficult (and can be quite expense if you want a young child).  Do you have an nieces or nephews that you can spoil?

My mom was out of town on a vacation/road trip so I sent her an ecard.

It still isn't the same.  Besides, except for sabidoo's step-daughter, all the nieces and nephews are grown and we rarely see them.

Staybrite, they do. We we're all invite ar my son's for dinner. They cooked.
We've had a good time together.

Mother's Day without a mom or kids are the hard.

I never will forget my partents on Mother's or Father's Day.

That is fantastic!

I actually took both of my sons to the store and made them buy something for their mother. Neither of them have jobs so I had no problem paying for it...it was just good from them to do something nice for their son. My youngest son even went outside and mowed the lawn (that was a shocker).
